Apex Legends Season 3 is due to begin on the 1st of October, together with the game’s second Ranked Series. While details about the upcoming series are still somewhat hazy, an apparent difference in translations on the game’s website hints at possible changes coming to King’s Canyon. If indeed the Apex Legends map does get a rework, fans could see the addition of both lava and ice hazards.
Apex Legends Season 3 Could Herald Major Changes to the Game’s Map
When Season 3 launches, fans will be getting a new Legend, Crypto, whose addition was recently confirmed by a cinematic trailer. There will also be a new weapon coming to the game; the Charge Rifle. The launch of Season 2 earlier this year heralded several big changes for the Apex Legends map, with the biggest being the addition of native fauna. Since then, Respawn has changed the map twice more for their two Town Takeovers; new map additions introduced during the Iron Crown and Voidwalker events.
As such, it’s entirely possible that Kings Canyon will get some changes with the launch of Season 3. While Respawn hasn’t officially revealed anything, those changes may involve ice and lava. Interestingly, a teaser sentence on the game’s website reads; “Show off your skills in the new series of Ranked mode. Drop in hot and put your enemies on ice!” However, Italian fans have noticed that there seems to be a difference in the way this part is worded; a difference which makes the sentence’s implications much more interesting.
The Italian version of the site reads; “Sbaraglia i nemici e esplora scenari di lava e ghiaccio”. Reddit user FrostBurn303 recently noted that this actually translates as; “Eliminate enemies and explore lava and ice scenarios”. While it may just be a mistranslation, this does seem to imply that Kings Canyon may be getting some environmental hazards. For now, fans will have to wait until the 1st of October to see whether anything new comes to Kings Canyon for themselves.
