One of the PS5 features we have heard the most about for a long time now is the console’s SSD. Indeed, the SSD is supposed to result in lightning-fast load times on PlayStation 5. Now, a tweet with leaked PS5 load times seems to confirm that the SSD truly delivers on its promise. Let’s take a look.
Check Out the Leaked PS5 Load Times
You can view the tweet here:
The leak apparently shows Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales starting up on the next gen console. Starting on the PS5’s UI, the player has the game menu ready to go in seconds. We then watch as they load the game from the game menu, which likewise takes mere seconds.
How likely is this leak to be authentic? There is no way to guarantee that it is real, but there is no reason to suspect that it isn’t. It looks real, and the load times, while amazing, should be plausible given what we have heard about the powerful SSD.
While this still doesn’t show us what we can expect in terms of in-game loading times, it does seem promising. Given what we have seen, it is easy to imagine being able to traverse even huge open world games without load screens. Faster load times and fewer (or no) load screens is just the kind of quality of life improvement that we’ve been wanting for years. Playing our games will be more convenient, seamless and immersive than ever before.
We have only around one week to wait now before the PlayStation 5 releases on November 12th! Check our PlayStation news throughout the week leading up to that date for more news and updates, and after that date for even more. We can’t wait to experience the next generation of PlayStation gaming for ourselves.
