LeBron James Could Have His Special Mode In NBA 2K19

LeBron James is a cover athlete of NBA 2K19 Anniversary Edition. This won’t be the first time he appears on the cover of the popular basketball video game as he had that honor in NBA 2K14. If you played that game, you know that it had a special game mode involving the then-Miami Heat player, and a similar mode may come to NBA 2K19!

James was a big part of NBA 2K14 as he curated the soundtrack and appeared in a few MyCareer scenes. The special mode, LeBron: Path to Greatness, was also very interesting and it allowed players to select their own path of James’ career.

Now, there is a good chance that the four-time MVP will once again be featured in a special game mode. After all, this has been a big summer for LeBron James. After participating in his eighth straight NBA Finals, the small forward had decided to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers and play in the Western Conference for the first time.

Ronnie Singh, the Digital Marketing Director at 2K, has hinted at a special LeBron James mode through Instagram stories. One specific story had an image of an empty basketball court with no visible logos. Many NBA 2K fans believe that this could be the biggest hint at a LeBron-exclusive mode, and that it will let them choose James’ career path once again.

LeBron James, who will play for the Los Angeles Lakers next NBA season, will have a 98 overall rating in NBA 2K19. There will be four more versions of the small forward in the game as he will appear on both the all-time Cleveland Cavaliers and the all-time Miami Heat roster. His rating on these two teams will be 99. Additionally, he will be on the 2013 Heat with a 98 rating, and his rating on the 2007 Cavaliers will be 96.
