The Apex Legends Battle Armor event is now at its halfway mark, as we approach the upcoming launch of Season 5. This two-week event features a new game mode called Battle Armor, where only one type of armor is found throughout the map. Now that Level 3 of the event is active, there’s nothing but Purple Armor to be found in this mode.
Apex Legends Battle Armor Event: Level 3
The Apex Legends Battle Armor event first started back on the 28th of April. During its first week, Levels 1 and 2 of the event offered solely White and then Blue Armor, respectively. Level 3, which will be live until 10:00 AM PDT on the 9th of May, features nothing but Purple Armor. The other difference in the time-limited Battle Armor game mode, which doesn’t change as the event progresses, is that all players drop into each match with a P2020 already in their possession.
On the 9th of May, when Level 3 of the event ends, the game’s most interesting section will begin; ‘Level 4’ will be live from 10:01 AM PDT on the 9th until 10:00 AM PDT on the 12th. During this time, the only armor which players will be able to find in the mode will be “Evo Armor”; a never-before-seen armor type inspired by the Evo Shields which were added to Apex Legends during the Season 4 System Override event.
Just like Evo Shields, Evo Armor will initially start as weak as White Armor. However, as the wearer damages enemy players in-game, their Evo Armor grows stronger. Eventually, the armor will turn Blue, then Purple, and finally Orange; a new armor tier which is even stronger than Purple Armor. It’s currently unknown whether Respawn plans on permanently adding Evo Armor to the game after the end of the current event. However, it’s certainly possible that they will, especially given the popularity of the new Evo Shields.
