The FIFA 19 World Tour continues and the latest stop was Dortmund as singer Liam Payne teamed up with hip-hop artist MoTrip. The duo was up against a tough twosome, though, as they faced BVB’s Marco Reus and Christian Pulisic. Luckily, this was a “No Rules Matchup” of FIFA 19, giving at least one of the teams an extra advantage. Here’s what went down when the two teams faced off using a familiar team and absolutely no calls for improper behavior on the virtual pitch.
FIFA 19 World Tour: Payne & MoTrip vs. Pulisic & Reus
In previous World Tour video, hip-hop star A$AP Rocky met NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. for a session. The latest episode features two musicians. The boy band One Direction broke records and hearts worldwide, so it only makes sense that one of the group members appears in the newest World Tour stop. Liam Payne was there to talk trash and battle with the footballers. Payne released hit songs with One Direction but since 2017 he’s also done solo tracks including “For You.” The song with Rita Ora hit No. 1 on the German charts.

On his side was German rapper MoTrip who dropped “So wie du bist” three years ago. That song went as high as No. 3 on the German charts and was part of a Beats by Dre commercial about soccer player Bastian Schweinsteiger. Needless to say, Payne and MoTrip are two musical superstars in Germany, but what about in the world of competitive sports video games?
On the opposite side were two players who are actually part of the real game and the FIFA 19 game roster. Marco Reus scored a (real life) fan-favorite goal in November against Bayern Munich getting him the “Goal of the Month” from Bundesliga. His teammate Christian Pulisic is making recent headlines as a possible target for other teams to try to add to their roster. That could include clubs such as Chelsea and Liverpool.
The two-man teams appropriately faced off in a Borussia Dortmund vs. Borussia Dortmund battle. It was also no rules, meaning offsides, fouls, or bookings weren’t part of their game. That brought on plenty of trash talking and frustration. The non-athlete competitors quickly learned that their opponents know how to benefit from the “no rules” format. Check out the video below for the hilarious highlights.
FIFA 19 World Tour: Worldwide matchups, one stop is left
Previous editions of the FIFA 19 World Tour took place in other major spots around the globe. That included London, England as well as New York City and Paris, France. The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil episode preceded the Dortmund edition. Other matchups featured England’s Stormzy and Dapaah, as well as France’s Niksa and Alonzo, among others.
There appears to be just one more stop left and that will be in Abu Dhabi, Dubai. This one features Formula One racing star Lewis Hamilton as he goes up against King Bach. It should be interesting to see which teams these two stars will use in their battle. The video is coming soon, but gamers can check out the other episodes here at the EA website.
