Live Action Uncharted Fan Film Stars Nathan Fillion and It’s Way Too Short

Every time Naughty Dog releases a new Uncharted game, we spend hours playing through the cinematic story always thinking about how well Nathan Drake, Elena, and Sully would fit into a live-action Uncharted film. Going on an adventure to find some secret, dangerous treasure only to be stopped in their tracks by some secret evil organization or petty thieves. It would feel like a modern Indiana Jones but with a little bit more wittiness thanks to Drake’s sense of humor; even when faced with death, our titular hero always seems to be able to make a joke out of any and everything.

We’ve seen plenty of people mock-up their own live-action adaptions of the action-adventure series, but never to a high enough quality, until now. Nathan Fillion, the Canadian-American actor of Firefly and Castle fame, has just today released a short 15-minute live action film based on Uncharted. Directed by Allan Ungar, the short film only makes us want a full-length Uncharted movie more than ever now, Nathan Fillion could even play Drake and we would not be upset, even though he looks just a tad bit old to play Nathan Drake – regardless, we still loved his take on playing the experienced treasure hunter. You can watch the film in its entirety right here:

There have always been talks of a Hollywood Uncharted movie being in production, but we haven’t heard much about it lately. Hopefully, this short can whet the appetite of Uncharted fans while also showing the big wigs that this is the kind of movie we would want to see from the franchise. Just give us a funny buddy adventure movie and we’ll probably be satisfied.

What’d you all think about the short film? Would you be okay if Nathan Fillion actually played Drake if he had the opportunity too in a full-length movie? We would love to hear your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below!
