Following the addition of Ghost at the start of Season 2, the second new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Operator has now been added to the game by Infinity Ward. Unlock Ghost, the new Operator Mace can only be unlocked by purchasing a Store bundle, which includes additional cosmetics.
How to Unlock the Modern Warfare Operator Mace
The new Modern Warfare Operator Mace is the second of three planned for Season 2. Ghost, the first new Operator, was added at the start of the season and is available as a reward for the first tier of the Season 2 Battle Pass. Unlocking Mace, on the other hand, requires players to purchase the new “Mace Operator Bundle” in the in-game Store. This bundle includes both Mace and several new weapon cosmetics themed around the new character.
While Ghost was a Coalition Operator, Mace is available on the Allegiance side. The American operator is a former U.S. Ranger who now works for the Jackals; the same organisation which Operators Azul, Grinch, and Zane are all members of. “Ex U.S. Ranger turned gun for hire,” writes Infinity Ward, about the new character; “Joined Jackals cutting his teeth in the slums of Soweto, South Africa. Marked with traditional scars to honour his heritage. Has earned a reputation for being a vicious Operator.”
The launch of Mace coincides with the last major Modern Warfare patch of February. This patch includes a new map, Bazaar, as well as several new modes. These include Giant Infection, a 3v3 Snipers mode, and “Boots on the Ground War”; a new variant of Ground War which removes tanks and enforces Realism rules. Of course, the patch also brings tweaks to both old and new weapons, as well as a host of general fixes. Following the launch of Mace, players can expect to get at least one more new Operator later in the Season. Infinity Ward has yet to reveal this third Operator’s identity.
