The NFL offseason continues and so does the fun with Madden 19 Ultimate Team events. A brand new MUT event called “Color Smash” was revealed as of Tuesday, April 9. This new promotion comes soon after Madden’s Path to the Draft event and brings some great new cards right off the bat. Here’s the latest on what’s involved in the new Madden 19 Ultimate Team Color Smash event.
Madden 19 Ultimate Team Color Smash JJ Watt, Derwin James
Color Smash arrives as a special Easter type theme in Madden 19 complete with colorful player cards and Eggs! With previous Madden Ultimate Team promotions, gamers were able to benefit from some free goodies at the start of the event. That’s the case here as well, as just for logging into Ultimate Team gamers are going to receive a Welcome Pack. That includes an 85 JJ Watt NAT card along with a MUT tips card just for logging in.
JJ Watt is also the first Color Smash Masters player bringing a sweet 99 OVR with his card. The defensive star’s MUT attributes include 98s for Strength and Play Recognition along with 97 for Tackle and Block Shedding. Check out more on his brand new Color Smash Masters card revealed below.
To get that JJ Watt Masters, gamers will need to create a set of four Color Smash defensive player cards. Once that set is assembled, gamers not only get the Watt Masters but also those four player cards back as NATs. One of the first 97 OVR player cards revealed was strong safety Derwin James from the Chargers as shown below.
There are Color Smash packs and bundles currently available at the Store. A Color Smash pack goes for 1,050 points or 65,000 coins. A 7X Bundle is 5,850 points. The 12X Bundle is 12,000 points and includes a random 97 OVR Color Smash Hero.
Gamers can also purchase Color Smash players or Heros, as well as Random Eggs at the store. An 88+ OVR Smash Player goes for 5,200 Picks. A 97 OVR Color Smash Hero is 36,000 Picks. A random Tier 1 Egg is 3,500 points while a random Egg is 8,900 points.
Madden 19 Color Smash Objectives, Challenges
As with other big events in the world of Madden Ultimate Team, Color Smash brings more objectives and challenges to the game. We checked out the Solo Challenges section of Ultimate Team which reveals there are a total of 20 Color Smash challenges. These are beneficial for earning Color Smash players as well as Collectibles.
The first Solo Challenge is called “A Boy Brushed Crimson, Living in Onyx and Snow.” The challenge involves using your MUT squad to get a comeback to win against the Minnesota Vikings. It brings 250 Coins, 10 Draft Picks Item (for Quicksell), and an Ultimate Moment for getting past it. Each challenge after that brings more of the same for completing it.
It appears that by completing all 20 of these Color Smash Solo Challenges, gamers are going to earn a Random Tier egg for their hard work. Those have a very nice Quicksell price, so it’s well worth the work!
