On Thursday night, football fans saw the NFL Week 3 games kick off for the latest season. In that game, the Cleveland Browns gave their fans a first win in forever, as they defeated the Jets 21-17. On Sunday and Monday, many more NFL teams are hoping to grab a win. As with other weeks, there are new Madden 19 simulations that can give fans some fun (or scarily accurate) NFL Week 3 predictions.
NFL Week 3 Predictions: Cowboys vs. Seahawks
Another team in search of their first win for the 2018 NFL season is the Seattle Seahawks. They’re among the group of 0-2 teams as of Week 3 and they’ll battle the 1-1 Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. In terms of game odds, Seattle opened as three-point favorites for Sunday’s home game. Since then, they’ve fallen to just one or 1.5 point favorites at various sportsbooks.

USA Today’s Cowboys Wire ran a simulation of the game and it featured a lackluster first half. Field goals were on the early menu, leading to a 6-6 tie at halftime. However, a touchdown from Ezekiel Elliott gave Dallas the edge in the third quarter. Despite a field goal from Seattle, Elliott took off for another touchdown, this time a 23-yard score to push it to 20-9 Cowboys.
There was good and bad news for the Seahawks in this one. Russell Wilson found Brandon Marshall for their first TD of the game later. The bad news: Dallas added two field goals to their lead, and won the Madden 19 simulation, 26-16. That puts the Cowboys at 3-0 in the simulations (and possibly 2-1 if they really win on Sunday).
NFL Week 3 Predictions: Bengals vs. Panthers
This game has the makings of a great one for football fans. On one side are former NFL MVP Cam Newton and his Carolina Panthers (1-1) team that some analysts feel could make another Super Bowl push. On the other side is a team surging early in the Cincinnati Bengals (2-0), behind quarterback Andy Dalton. Current odds show the home team Panthers favored by a field goal.
Ahead of that game, Cincinnati’s Enquirer ran their own Madden 19 simulation and streamed it online. Early on, the home squad grabbed a 3-0 advantage thanks to a successful drive. The Panthers extended the lead in the second quarter thanks to a Cam Newton scramble run followed by a seven-yard touchdown pass to Torey Smith. The Bengals remained scoreless. Carolina took a 10-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Newton and Carolina struck yet again. He guided his team to the red zone on another successful drive. Cam Newton capped it off by running the ball into the end zone for the 17-0 lead. Dalton and company tried to make it respectable by going for it on a 4th and 12th with under a minute remaining. Unfortunately, the Panthers defense was all over him before he could even attempt a pass, ending any chance for a Bengals’ score.
So in that simulation, Carolina came away with a 17-0 win. One of the key themes for this simulated game was that Carolina’s defense was able to get to Dalton quite a bit. So it’ll be interesting to see if that happens in Sunday’s real game.
Other NFL Week 3 predictions
While those two NFL Week 3 predictions were courtesy of sites catering to specific teams’ fans, there are a bunch more games this weekend. Among the standouts will be Andrew Luck and the Colts visiting the Philadelphia Eagles with quarterback Andrew Wentz back on the field. Also, rising star Patrick Mahomes looks to go for a third straight win as he battles the San Francisco 49ers.
The App Trigger website recently gave their Madden simulations for all of these Week 3 games. The website mentions that they went 5-11 in the previous week’s simulations, so they’re looking for a stronger effort this week. In a spoiler alert, one of their simulated results has the Browns defeating the Jets, 35-14, so they’re off to a great start.
The great thing is that fans can also use their own Madden 19 game to run the simulations based on whatever format they decide, so some of this season’s 0-2 teams may already be headed to Super Bowl 53.
