Madden 19 Player Ratings: Amari Cooper Gets Boost, Kirk Cousins Among Slumping QBs

The latest batch of Madden 19 player ratings is now available and several stars showed up on offense during Week 14. They include the Dallas Cowboys’ Amari Cooper and San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle who both had great outings this past week. EA is highlighting those players as well as several under-the-radar rookies playing in the league. Meanwhile, there’s been a few notable quarterback ratings slumps of note including the Minnesota Vikings’ Kirk Cousins.

Madden 19 Player Ratings: Cooper, Kittle shine in Week 14

The Amari Cooper trade was one of the biggest of the season. In last Sunday’s big game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Cooper was easily the star and hero for Dallas again. He racked up 217 yards and three touchdowns in his performance. The third and final of those TDs came in overtime as he had the awareness to catch a deflected pass and bring it into the end zone. Due to that performance, Cooper received a one-point boost, becoming an 88 in the game. As he and the Cowboys’ success continues, expect those ratings to climb some more.

The San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle also came up big in Week 14. The 49ers’ tight end tallied 210 yards including a stellar 85-yard touchdown. The Madden ratings adjustment team took notice of that just as all the fans did who tagged him in a Twitter post (above). Kittle got three-point boosts to Catching and Ball Carrier Vision as well as a four-point boost to his Stiff Arm. That resulted in him becoming an 89 overall this week.

The Madden crew highlighted several defensive rookies at the linebacker spot this week too. The Denver Broncos’ Bradley Chubb has been impressive this season, setting a rookie record with 12 sacks for the team. He got four-point boosts on Awareness and Precision and moved up a point to an 81 overall. Darius Leonard of the Indianapolis Colts is currently leading the league in tackles. He didn’t move up in his 83 overall but received a two-point adjustment on his Pursuit rating this week.

Madden 19 Player Ratings: Cousins amongst players who fell

Over in the ratings drop section are several quarterbacks who were slumping in at least the past week. One of those is the Minnesota Vikings’ Kirk Cousins. His Vikings lost to the Seattle Seahawks in Monday Night Football, 21-7. Cousins finished with 208 yards and a touchdown throw but was held to just 27 yards for a half. Ouch. His numbers were moved downward including four points shaved off his Awareness. That brings in a ratings drop of two points, making the Vikings QB an 84 overall. It’s a fall from grace for the previous Madden Ultimate Team representative.

Another quarterback who had a tough outing was the Los Angeles Rams’ Jared Goff. He may have a better excuse, as he ran into one of the league’s best defenses outside his own team’s. In Chicago, Goff was held to 180 yards on 20 of 44 passes by the Bears’ defense. He also threw four interceptions and zero touchdowns in the game. As one might expect, the lack of passes for TDs coupled with so many turnovers resulted in his Passing Accuracy dropping by several points. Goff is now an 85 overall, highlighting one of the other major players in a slump this past week.

The good news for Cousins and Goff is that it’s a brand new week. They’ll have opportunities to turn things around as the Week 15 games arrive. The 6-6-1 Vikings host the 7-6 Miami Dolphins, while the 11-2 Rams host the Philadelphia Eagles (6-7).
