In Week 7 of the NFL season, fans saw some tremendous performances on the field. A number of players have received boosts in terms of their skill ratings and overall Madden 19 player ratings. Among them are offensive threats Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears’ wide receiver Trey Burton. Unfortunately, a handful of players aren’t performing quite as well and dropped a bit in terms of Madden 19 ratings.
Madden 19 player ratings climb for Mahomes, Burton
Another week, another top-notch performance for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. In Week 7, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs routed the visiting Cincinnati Bengals 45-10. Mahomes did more MVP-like things as he threw 358 yards and four touchdowns on 28-for-39 passing. As a result, Mahomes’ Madden skills are mostly boosted by a point across the board, with his running skill up two points to 92. He’s now moved up another point in his Madden 19 player ratings to an 88 overall.

The Chicago Bears nearly forced overtime against the visiting New England Patriots but were stopped a yard short as regulation ended. Still, the Bears were able to hang tough with Tom Brady and the Pats, with receiver Trey Burton catching nine passes for 126 yards and a touchdown. Burton now sees his Madden 19 ratings boost as well with a nice two-point increase to an 88 overall.
Browns’ running back Nick Chubb is another notable ratings boost. Chubb has an increased role with Cleveland after a trade sent Carlos Hyde to the Jaguars. After Week 7, his Awareness skill is boosted by three points for Madden 19.
Madden 19 player ratings unkind for three others
While Chicago Bears’ receiver Trey Burton climbed a bit, his teammate Allen Robinson II had a one-point drop to an 86. His performance against the Patriots included just one reception and four yards all game. His stock may continue to drop if he doesn’t pick it up on the receiving end of things.
Quarterback Josh Rosen was touted as one of the top quarterbacks in last summer’s draft, and that still may be true. That may be seen in the future. However, Rosen struggled quite a bit against the Broncos. In Week 7 he was sacked six times, picked off three times, and also cough up three fumbles versus Denver. It’s rookie growing pains right now, so Rosen will have to bounce back for better ratings.
Another player with a one-point drop is DeMarcus Lawrence. The Cowboys’ defensive star fell to a 90, which isn’t too bad at all. Still, he was much higher last season based on his ferocious defense. Cowboys’ fans are hoping he can regain that to help them pick up some wins in upcoming games.
So who might be due for a Madden 19 boost after Week 8? Only one game has taken place so far as the Houston Texans defeated the Miami Dolphins, 42-23. However, Texans QB Deshaun Watson made a strong case for a rooting boost after throwing 239 yards and five touchdowns to help his team win.
