Madden 19 Position Heroes Cards: Michael Thomas, Fletcher Cox Lead Latest MUT Drop
As gamers await the arrival of Madden 20, the folks at EA Sports involved with Madden Ultimate Team keep providing new content to enjoy. The latest drop includes four new Madden 19 Position Heroes cards. Headlining the group is the New Orleans Saints’ Michael Thomas and Philadelphia Eagles’ Fletcher Cox. Below is a look at all of the new Position Heroes players unveiled on May 28.
New Madden 19 Positional Heroes cards
Every Tuesday and Thursday, Madden Ultimate Team gamers will see new Positional Heroes revealed. Tuesday (May 28) brought us four new cards all of which show 99 Overall. A few of those cards also include Power Up potential with these new cards for Michael Thomas and Fletcher Cox.
In addition to those two Power Up players is the Buffalo Bills’ cornerback Tre-Davious White and Browns’ halfback, Nick Chubb. Madden revealed all four of the cards shown below via their latest Daily Drops stream on Twitch.
Key attributes for many of these players falls within the 90s. White boasts a 95 Speed, while Chubb, and Thomas bring 94 Speed. Thomas has that Power Up on his card as does Fletcher, who was given just an 84 Speed for a defensive tackle. A 99 for Tackle along with 98s on both Play Recognition and Power Moves helps the Fletcher card.
The cards will go over well with some gamers who might have assembled the Ultimate Team based on the NFL squad that Position Hero represents. However, other members of the gaming community feel it’s a lackluster selection of Position Heroes cards and that EA could do better.
How to obtain the new player cards
Nonetheless, these brand new Position Heroes cards are part of the ongoing promotion. To get them, gamers have to go into Ultimate Team mode and buy specific packs over the next 48 hours. There are also options to complete Position Heroes challenges to gain tokens. Once enough tokens are assembled, one of the players above can be acquired.
Another way to get these particular player cards is to head into the Auction House area of Ultimate Team. In there, bidding goes on for the various cards, which can get steep, especially based on the type of card and which player it is. Below is a look at some of the Position Heroes players getting a lot of coins at the Auction House. So far, the new Fletcher Cox card appears to be a gem with the high bids over 300,000.
These new player cards join other Positional Heroes revealed such as Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson and Bears’ safety Eddie Jackson. Many gamers are still hoping that Madden 20 will bring better Ultimate Team drops to help all teams out. Time will tell as the game arrives in late July for pre-orders and early August for everyone else.
