The wait is finally over for Madden fans! As of Thursday, EA Sports released their Madden 19 roster update with offseason changes made for teams’ final 53-man rosters. Reportedly, over 2,000 changes were made to the rosters in the game to reflect the actual NFL rosters. That’s good news for Madden fans (especially Bears fans) as the game rejected the real Khalil Mack trade made between Oakland and Chicago this past weekend. Now that trade has been updated in the game, although it comes with a ratings change for the defensive star.

A tweet on Thursday from Madden producer @Equipment_Guru announced the new roster update. He mentioned the over 2,000 changes made to the rosters and that it took “a lot of hard work and testing.” That was the reason for the Madden 19 roster release coming just hours before the real regular season kicked off. The Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Atlanta Falcons in the first official game of the season, with the Super Bowl Champions coming away with the big win.
Hey guys roster update is now live, remember there is over 2000 changes in here, this is hardly an easy task for one or even two people and requires a lot of hard work and testing to ensure quality and correctness.
Please enjoy the fruits of our labor!

That’s a good number of roster changes but should keep fans happy with that aspect of that game, for now. There have been some other complaints about gameplay online, though. These include claims that only 50 percent of passes are catchable, that halfbacks make strange “juke” or fake out moves when there’s nobody near them, and that the offensive lines don’t play like they should. It’s possible these bugs will persist, although maybe EA Sports has a patch in the works for these problems.
With Madden 19 roster update, Mack’s rating drops
As mentioned, one of the major roster updates included Khalil Mack being moved to the Chicago Bears. With the roster change, they switched the former Oakland Raiders star to outside linebacker instead of a defensive end. It lowered his overall player rating from 98 down to a 95. However, a tweet from another user indicated that the roster change also improved Mack’s player rating at the OLB position. In fact, it made him amongst the highest-rated players for that position.
Khalil Mack was switched to OLB for the Bears, taking his 98 Overall rating (as a DE) down to 95. That's actually an increase of a point over what he was before when at OLB, where he's now tied for second highest rated with Lavonte David and Sean Lee, and behind only Von Miller.

Now that the Madden 19 roster updates are finalized, it will allow fans to simulate NFL games and play their seasons. The App Trigger website simulated the Week 1 matchups ahead of yesterday’s Thursday Night Football game. Unfortunately, they didn’t have EA’s official roster updates at the time. With that said, one game was already inaccurate, as the simulation had the Falcons emerging with a 38-14 win in Philadelphia last night.
The new roster update reportedly doesn’t take too long to complete. There will be more roster updates as the season goes forth to reflect what’s happening in the league. In addition, player ratings will change based on how players are performing during the season. Stay tuned for more of the latest Madden game news as it arrives.
