The NFL offseason has not seen any shortage of rumors or headline news based on the upcoming draft class and potential roster moves. Among the players that are rumored to be joining new teams are Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell, as well as free agent Nick Foles. There are also a whole bunch of talented prospects auditioning at the NFL Combine including prospect Kyler Murray who will join an NFL team. Madden is already teasing upcoming roster updates for their game.
Madden 19 roster updates: Nick Foles with Jaguars
The Philadelphia Eagles made a magical run to the Super Bowl and won the Lombardi Trophy behind backup quarterback Nick Foles in the 2017-18 season. They tried to recreate that magic again, but Foles didn’t quite deliver this past postseason. The Eagles also believe they have their star quarterback in Carson Wentz when he’s healthy.
That means they’re letting Foles go to a new team, which seems to be the Jacksonville Jaguars. Madden tweeted out a photo of Foles wearing the brand new jersey which could be a tease for a future Madden roster update.

It would mean that Foles takes over on the Jaguars’ roster for quarterback Blake Bortles. The Jaguars nearly made it into the Super Bowl in the 2017-18 NFL season but were bested by the New England Patriots. That Jags team had a superb defense, but as of their dismal 2018-19 season, many fans knew it was time for a change. Fixing the QB situation became the most glaring solution.
Foles and Bortles entered Madden 19 with the exact same OVR of 80. Both players also slid in their ratings by season’s end. However, Foles’ drop was by just a point to a 79 once the season was over. Bortles had plummeted to a 76 on his end of season ratings. Adding a veteran like Nick Foles with playoff experience seems like it could be the move the Jaguars need, although there are a few QBs available in the upcoming draft.
Madden 19 roster updates: Kyler Murray Draft class
One of those quarterbacks is Kyler Murray who has been preparing for a successful transition from the college gridiron to the pro football field. Plenty of fans with teams in need of a future star QB are hoping their team finds a way to draft this young prospect.
The folks from EA are already preparing for Kyler Murray’s entry into the NFL through the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft. As part of that preparation, they tweeted out a photo showing the talented rookie getting his face scan done for the game.

There are some analysts who believe Kyler Murray will be this year’s No. 1 pick for the Arizona Cardinals. They’re a team who drafted a quarterback just last year with the No. 10 pick Josh Rosen. Based on what Murray has shown, he could be one of those players that a team in need just can’t pass up.
Josh Rosen is also another QB who finished with a lower OVR than what he entered Madden 19 season with. He was a 78 OVR based on potential but never showed much to warrant any boosts over that number. By the end of the season, Rosen had slid down to a 74 OVR.
Murray didn’t throw the football at all during the NFL Scouting Combine. However, he had his measurements taken as he is 5-foot-10 and weighs in at 207 pounds. Murray also has a hand size of 9.5 inches, per Sporting News. It was once unknown whether he’d choose baseball or football, but it appears he’ll be a part of the Madden 19 roster updates of the future.
