A brand new Madden 19 Ultimate Team promotion is now available for Thursday night in conjunction with the 2019 NFL Draft. With this new event, gamers will be able to build sets (starting Tuesday) to acquire the upcoming draft picks. That’s right, new players selected from No. 1 through No. 32 will be added to Madden. However, getting these players will come at quite an expense based on the new Madden 19 Ultimate Team 2019 NFL Draft event details.
Madden 19 Ultimate Team 2019 Draft event details
Brand new Path to the Draft packs are now available in the Madden 19 Store, featuring cards unavailable in packs before. Inside these packs are special Path to the Draft or other collectibles that were previously only available through solos. Gamers can now buy the packs with coins or buy draft collectible players with their picks. A pack costs 17,000 coins to acquire. However, these can help with the new set building for upcoming NFL Draft picks.
The new 2019 NFL Draft event will allow for the acquisition of the upcoming NFL Draft pick players (from the first-round) in the game. Gamers will need to build sets of 72 collectible player cards in order to achieve 2019 NFL Draft pick players.
So far example, a set of 72 specific items can be exchanged for the No. 1 pick, the No. 2 pick, or the No. 3 pick, and so on. Those 72 items are 83 OVR player cards. It’s a repeatable set deal too, so multiple 2019 draft picks can be acquired.
By the way, there’s a special Draft event “Welcome Pack” also available for Ultimate Team gamers. Inside that pack will be an 83 OVR Baker Mayfield card. Gamers can use this as part of the necessary sets for other draft picks.
Mayfield was the No. 1 overall draft pick for the Cleveland Browns in 2018. While Baker Mayfield wasn’t Offensive Rookie of the Year, he looks to be the cornerstone of a Browns team that is clearly on the rise amongst potential contenders.
Madden 19 Event Brings NFL Draft Solos, Gamers’ feedback
There are Daily Draft, 2019 NFL Draft, and other Challenges available to help earn collectibles. Gamers can find these in the Solos area. There are 32 challenges in the 2019 NFL Draft screen, beginning with the Baltimore Ravens who chose No. 32 in the 2018 Draft. Work through each of these team challenges to earn rewards including collectibles. These can help towards building those sets of player cards for 2019 player picks.
EA’s Madden “Daily Drops” crew from the Twitch is referring to this new Madden Ultimate Team draft promotion as “high risk, high reward.” That’s because gamers don’t necessarily know what player might go at which spots in the 2019 NFL Draft. So it’s a matter of trying to guess where a particular player someone wants on their roster will be drafted and having all the collectibles ready for a set.
So far, it appears the new promotion isn’t sitting well with those who were in the Madden Daily Drops Twitch channel chat. A lot of gamers are already irritated by the promotion due to having to acquire so many collectibles for a 94 OVR card.
What do you think of the new Madden 19 event? Is it a pass for you, or will you be trying to acquire the collectibles for a certain 2019 NFL Draft pick?
