It’s the weekend, and that means some exciting new Madden 19 Ultimate Team content is available. We learned a day or so ago about the new Madden 19 Team MVP cards and the double XP promotion this weekend. On Saturday, the Madden crew at Twitch dropped news of several new Ultimate Legends for gamers. Here are more details on the brand new Madden Ultimate Legends cards available including gridiron heroes Mel Blount and Deacon Jones.
Madden 19 Ultimate Legends adds Jones, limited-time Blount
There were three new cards unveiled on Saturday (Mar. 23) for Madden 19 Ultimate Team Legends. Each of them brings the 98 OVR with it too. First up, we’ve got Deacon Jones. The defensive star did the bulk of his work as a member of the Rams for a decade, before stints with San Diego and Washington. For his career, Jones tallied two interceptions, 15 fumble recoveries, and two safeties. Jones was also an eight-time Pro Bowl selection and made First-Team All-Pro five times during his career.
His new Ultimate Legends card (below) includes key attributes including 98 Power Moves, 97 Tackling, and a 97 Strength which will help MUT rosters immensely. This one is also great for anyone out there with a Rams-themed squad.
Next up, there’s a brand new limited-time Mel Blount player card in Ultimate Team. Blount spent his entire 13-year career with Pittsburgh racking up 57 interceptions for 736 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 13 fumble recoveries with 105 yards and two touchdowns. Those are definitely some noteworthy defensive stats for the Hall of Fame cornerback.
The cornerback’s MUT player card includes 97 Zone Coverage and 96 Play Recognition. He also boasts 95s for Acceleration, Pressure, and Jumping, making this LTD card quite valuable for Steelers teams or really any MUT rosters in need of help on secondary defense.
Here’s a look at the full Mel Blount Ultimate Legends card now available in Madden 19 (for a limited-time).
Finally, we see the return of Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. He’s one of the all-time elite receivers in NFL history, as he starred with the Cincinnati Bengals. Johnson never captured a Super Bowl ring but finished his career as a member of the New England Patriots in 2011. That team lost the big game to the New York Giants. Still, Johnson racked up impressive numbers for his career including 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns on 766 receptions.
Ochocinco’s Legends card (below) includes 97s for both Medium and Deep Route runs as well as spectacular Catch and Jumping. Basically, he’s sporting 90s across the board to give Bengals MUT rosters a boost with of a bigtime receiving weapon.
All three cards are now available in MUT packs or through the market. Stay tuned as more Madden 19 news arrives including new Ultimate Team content or updates regarding the next big event in the game!
