On November 4, a pair of new Madden 20 Flashbacks players were officially released for Ultimate Team. Current Kansas City Chiefs strong safety Tyrann Mathieu and Green Bay Packers tight end Marcedes Lewis have joined the program. Here’s a look at their cards for previous flashback performances and how to get them in Ultimate Team.
Mathieu, Lewis’ Madden 20 Flashbacks items
Strong safety Tyrann Mathieu’s Madden 20 Flashbacks item is for his performance in 2015 Week 3 with the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals crushed the San Francisco 49ers back then 47-7. The defense helped them get started early with Mathieu factoring in. After Justin Bethel’s 21-yard interception, Mathieu recorded a pick-six a few minutes later to make it 14-0 early. Mathieu finished with two interceptions, a touchdown, and five solo tackles in the win.
His upgraded player item features a Power Up symbol which should make many gamers happy since the speed is just 87. However, the 90 OVR card also brings 89 Acceleration, 88 Play Recognition, and 85 Man Coverage to the field.
Marcedes Lewis gets a Madden 20 Flashbacks item for Week 5 of the 2010 NFL season. That’s back when Lewis was with the Jacksonville Jaguars and made it to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career. The Jaguars defeated the Buffalo Bills 36-26 in that 2010 Week 5 game with Lewis catching four passes for 54 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
For Lewis’ new 90 OVR item, there’s no Power Up, and some may argue the ratings are less than desirable. That said, he has 87 Run Block, 84 Catching, 81 Strength, and 90 Spectacular Catch with a 74 Speed.
Some gamers may prefer another TE on their roster such as Legends Shannon Sharpe. His 89 OVR item has better speed, awareness, and stamina. However, Lewis brings better strength, acceleration, and jumping abilities with the new Flashbacks item.
How to get them in Ultimate Team
The newest player items are now available in the Madden 20 Flashbacks packs at Ultimate Team Store. Flashbacks packs sell for 2,470 Training in the store which can be quite a bit, especially for gamers who want to use that for upgrading players on Ultimate Team. See our guide for how to get Training in Madden if you need more.
Otherwise, head to the Auction Browser of Ultimate Team. Players are available there too but are quite costly for Madden Coins. The latest auctions for Tyrann Mathieu were as high as 200,000 Coins. So, it may be better to hold off until more of his items become available for sale and prices fall a bit.
