Madden 20 MUT Heroes Challenges: How to Defeat the Shady Signals Do It My Way Challenge

With the arrival of Madden 20 MUT Heroes Challenges came a number of different mini-games to defeat. Each of them allowed gamers to earn up to three stars for beating the challenge and another two stars for achieving the two bonus goals. That brings Madden Coins and also as the stars pile up it brings bigger rewards. The biggest comes at 140 Stars as gamers get to select a NAT MUT Heroes player of their choice. However, some of the MUT Heroes Challenges can get tricky including the Shady Signals “Do It My Way” challenge. Here’s how to get past that one.

Madden 20 MUT Heroes Challenges: Shady Signals – Do It My Way Requirement

To get to “Do it My Way” in the Madden 20 MUT Heroes Challenges means getting to Page 2 of Shady Signals. To do that, you’ll have to defeat Page 1’s “Fly Me to the Moon” which involves throwing six or more high passes and scoring a passing TD in a quarter. Once you’ve completed that, you can move on to Page 2’s Do It My Way.

Here’s how the MUT Heroes challenge screen looks and as you’ll see the requirements and bonuses don’t make a ton of sense. However, the situation for this challenge is it’s 2nd and 20 and you’re down by 10 points.

You don’t need to score points so don’t worry about that. The words for the requirements and goals are meant to throw gamers off by giving mixed messages. Supposedly it’s to make the MUT Heroes challenge more fun by confusing gamers as much as possible. Luckily, we’ve got the answers to the challenge.

Notice the requirements says “You’d better not lateral!” Well, that’s exactly what you need to do to defeat this challenge. To lateral, run the ball past the line of scrimmage and lateral it back to a teammate behind you by pressing L1/LB. Do that twice and you should defeat this challenge.

Some people may want to try using a certain play from the playbook to do this. One good option is going into the “Pitch” plays to use an HB or FB Toss as those seem to work well for giving the space to make the play. Another that may work is the Guns Trips TE Flex play. So consider that option if you have it available to use.

How to achieve bonus goals in the challenge

Of course, you may want to also achieve the two bonus goals for more Stars and Madden Coins. Where it says “Ru…uh, Pass the ball 15 times,” you will need to run the ball six times. Where it says “It’s ok to spike the ball to miss your target, honest,” you can spike the ball twice.

Make sure you do these ahead of the lateral passing, though. If you just do the lateral passes, you’ll defeat the challenge and won’t get the bonuses. You’re also going to need to be smart about getting first downs to keep your only drive alive. So maybe consider running the ball six times first to get some room to work with. Add in a couple of spikes and then do your laterals to complete the challenge.

Here’s a summary of what the bonus goals and requirement are again:

  1. Ru…uh, Pass the ball 15 times = Run the ball six times.
  2. It’s ok to spike the ball to miss your target, honest = Spike the ball twice (an incomplete pass may qualify).
  3. You’d better not lateral = Lateral the ball twice.

By the way, losing the ball in any way ends this challenge. That includes a fumble, interception, safety, or fourth down. You’re already pretty close to the endzone for the opponents to get a potential safety so be careful. Also, scoring in any way will end the challenge, so don’t do that.

It’s really that simple, or so it seems. The lateral passing can take a bit of practice to get right. It could take a number of tries to defeat that part of the Madden 20 MUT Heroes Challenges, but once you get past Page 2, it’s on to Page 3. Check out more details about MUT Heroes here.
