It took a few weeks of the NFL regular season, but the Madden 20 cover star has achieved another big accomplishment. The Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes is now a part of the 99 Club. A special group of players who have a 99 overall in the Madden 20 player ratings. Here are more details about Mahomes’ season, his upgrade in the Madden 20 game, and latest Ultimate Team items.
Patrick Mahomes gets Madden 20 Player ratings upgrade
The Kansas City Chiefs are off to an undefeated start for their 2019-20 season, and once again quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the driving force. The Chiefs quarterback has already racked up 1,195 yards passing along with 10 touchdowns by air and zero interceptions. That’s helped Kansas City achieve a perfect record with wins over Jacksonville, Oakland, and Baltimore.
That keeps the Chiefs looking like Super Bowl favorites. It also boosts Mahomes in the latest Madden 20 player ratings update. He moved up to a 98 overall last week, with fellow quarterback Tom Brady going up to a 97. However, the latest ratings update boosts Mahomes another point to a 99. Here’s a Chiefs Twitter video as he talks to a ratings adjustor ahead of the Week 3 game. More recently, he receives the 99 plaque from EA.
That makes Patrick Mahomes the fifth member of the 99 Club in the Madden 20 player ratings. He joins fellow offensive star DeAndre Hopkins of the Houston Texans and three defensive players: Khalil Mack of the Chicago Bears, Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams, and Bobby Wagner of the Seattle Seahawks.
As of this report, the Madden player ratings database doesn’t show Mahomes as a 99, but that should be coming soon. Here’s a look at his latest numbers via EA’s official website.
Patrick Mahomes’ in-game skills, Ultimate Team items
As the cover star, gamers knew that Patrick Mahomes would bring an impressive set of skills with his Madden 20 player ratings. He has a number of special abilities for Superstar and Superstar X-Factor. Mahomes has the Bazooka throwing ability, Escape Artist, Dashing Deadeye, Red Zone Deadeye, and No-Look Deadeye. Here’s a look at the Madden screens of his abilities in the game.
The Chiefs star and reigning NFL MVP has several player items in the popular Madden 20 Ultimate Team mode too. His current cards in Ultimate Team include the Power-Up (75 OVR), M20 Pre-Order (85), Core Elite (87), and MUT Superstars (90). These range in price at the Auction Browser, but also pop up through Ultimate Team packs and other in-game promotions.
It’s going to be interesting to see if any other players will join the 99 Club this season, or who is the first to drop out if any of the current members do.
