On Monday night, we got a first look at the brand new Madden 20 Team of the Year players. They included new upgraded MUT cards for stars such as Russell Wilson, DeAndre Hopkins, Jamal Adams, and Aaron Donald. On Tuesday, the new player items became available in the game through the new challenges, sets, and Store packs that are now live. Here’s a breakdown of what each of these involves and includes.
What are the Madden 20 Team of the Year Challenges?
There are new Madden 20 Team of the Year challenges corresponding with the Offensive, Defensive, and Specialist TOTY players. They can be played in any order as there’s no need to unlock one player’s challenge before getting to try the next one.
These challenges are based on a particular game each of these players was part of during the past season. For example, Russell Wilson’s involves the Seahawks’ Week 5 victory against the Los Angeles Rams.
Each individual player’s challenge is worth from one to three Stars based on the difficulty level. There are another two Stars available for achieving two unique bonus goals in the game.
Every level of Stars on a player’s challenge earns a different amount of coins. For example, 1 Star is 25 Coins, 2 Stars is 25 Coins, 3 Stars is 50 Coins, 4 Stars is 100 Coins, and 5 Stars is 150 Coins. That’s a total of 350 Coins per player challenge.
The three groups, Offensive, Defensive, and Specialist Challenges, are worth up to a total of 50 Stars. So that’s 150 total Stars across all three groups if each individual player mission is completed for five Stars.
At 90 Stars is a milestone as gamers receive a NAT TOTY Fantasy pack. It will contain one random Offensive, Defensive, and Specialist player. At 150 Stars is another Milestone which brings 5,000 Madden Coins.
