On Monday, November 4, EA Madden developers rolled out a brand new title update which impacts many aspects of the game. That includes gameplay, Franchise mode, Superstar KO, and of course, Ultimate Team. Here’s a look at some of the changes that have arrived with the new Madden 20 Title Update 1.18 on November 4.
Madden 20 title update gives new X-Factor ability
We saw Madden 20 title update 1.18 come through for the PlayStation 4 at 2.757 gigabytes on Monday, November 4. That can take about 10 to 15 minutes with a reasonable WiFi or ethernet speed. It brings quite a bit with it, especially for the Franchise mode and gameplay, with EA’s notes here.
There’s now a new X-Factor Zone ability available in the game and it’s inspired by defensive star Ray Lewis. It’s called Momentum Shift and is activated by getting three successful hit-stick tackles on Arcade or Simulation mode, or five of them on Competitive mode. Once that happens, it knocks all opposing players out of their Zone. It also wipes out all Zone progress for opponents, so it’s quite valuable for those who have it.
Per Madden’s dev notes, this one is available as a Zone ability for linebackers in Ultimate Team. In Franchise mode, the Zone ability works with Field General MLB, Run Support FS, and/or Run Support SS players.
In addition to that, all of the newer abilities including Mossed and Lumberjack from the previous update are available in Franchise leagues.
Secondary Position players for Ultimate Team
In Ultimate Team, gamers can now use select players for secondary positions. What this means is select players can go into an additional position beyond their primary position. Their Chemistry will still count towards the lineup even in the secondary position.
It’s noteworthy that Secondary Position is only for use with “select Power Ups.” It becomes available once a Core Elite or Legend version of a player is applied. The example the developers give is that Aaron Donald can go into the LE or DT slot on a roster. However, this is available once the Power Up reaches the right Tier on his Core Elite item.
Madden’s developers indicated they’d provide a full list of all of the participating players and their positions soon. That list is presented in the YouTube video below at the 11:12 mark.
New Superstar KO Legends and more
Four new Superstar KO Legends are also now part of the draft pool for that quick-play mode thanks to the Madden 20 title update. They are wide receiver Marvin Harrison, cornerback Deion Sanders, strong safety Troy Polamalu, and free safety Ed Reed.
Six player likeness updates also arrived in the title update. They include Bears rookie running back David Montgomery, Cowboys RB Tony Pollard, and Falcons WR Julio Jones’ facial hair.
In Eric Rayweather’s new YouTube video, he covers many of the important Franchise, gameplay, and likeness changes included with the new Madden 20 title update. In addition, he runs down the full list of Secondary Position players available in Ultimate Team.
