Madden 20 Title Update 1.25 Brings New NFL Live Playbook Options, Franchise Mode Fixes
On Thursday, February 20, the new Madden 20 title update 1.25 officially launched for the EA game. This particular update is about 2 gigabytes in size. It features mostly changes for the NFL Live Playbooks and some Franchise mode fixes. Here are more details about what all is new with update 1.25 in Madden.
Madden 20 Title Update 1.25 Gives New NFL Live Playbook options
Over a week ago, VGR reported that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill tweeted to Madden asking if they might add a special play from the Chiefs’ Super Bowl 54 victory. As of the Madden 20 title update, they’ve added that play known as Jet Chip Wasp.
Here’s a look at the new play which is found in the Chiefs’ Gun Trey Y-Flex WK plays.
The San Francisco 49ers also received a few new plays in their playbook. In addition, many other teams have new plays as shown below.
- I-Form Pro PA TE Screen and Singleback Deuce Close PA Boot Corner Post to 49ers NFL Live Playbook
- Singeback Deuce Close PA Slide TE Screen to 49ers, Broncos, Bengals, Falcons, Packers, Rams, Seahawks and Titans NFL Live Playbooks
- Singleback Wing Slot PA Y Screen to Buccaneers and Vikings NFL Live Playbooks
- Far Pro offensive formation to Browns NFL Live Playbook
- Split Slot offensive formation to Bears NFL Live Playbook
- Quarter Overload defensive formation added to Buccaneers, Cardinals, Ravens and Titans NFL Live Playbooks
- Dime Rush defensive formation to Eagles, Jaguars and Redskins NFL Live Playbooks
- 4-3 Even 6-1 defensive formation to Broncos and Seahawks NFL Live Playbooks
Additional NFL Live Playbooks notes
Additionally, there were a few fixes for the NFL Live Playbooks in this Madden 20 title update.
- Developers fixed an issue causing zone swapping in 46 Cub Tampa 2.
- For the NFL Live Playbooks, they updated offensive play-call AI to reflect the run/pass ratios for all teams based on the 2019 NFL Season data.
- The dev team also fixed an issue allowing the QB to abort the hand-off animation when flipping a specific reverse play.
To switch NFL Live Playbooks on or off, go to the “Team Select” settings screen or the Settings Menu on the Main Menu. In Franchise mode, go to the Franchise Settings menu.
Unfortunately, the Madden 20 title update didn’t add NFL Live Playbooks to Ultimate Team just yet, which is something many gamers have been wanting for a while. They are available in regular Play mode on the main screen and in Franchise mode.
Franchise Mode updates
Just a few fixes arrived for Franchise mode in this Madden 20 title update. One of those was the standard “General stability and connectivity improvements” that arrive with most EA updates.
The other was a fix for an issue with the “Route Runner” Wide Receiver Archetype data. They mention the issue was preventing certain WRs from “reaching a high OVR via progression” in Franchise mode.
Some of the examples they gave of players who may have had this issue are the following: Michael Thomas, Davante Adams, Julian Edelman, Tyler Boyd, Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper, Julio Jones, Cooper Kupp, and Stefon Diggs.
