Madden 20 Ultimate Legends Group 16 Revealed: Lawrence Taylor Headlines Trio of Gridiron Greats
Madden Ultimate Team fans have been asking for an upgraded Lawrence Taylor card for weeks. The wait is over, as LT will headline the newest trio of Ultimate Legends players. Taylor was revealed to be one of the three stars who will be included in the Madden 20 Ultimate Legends Group 16 this weekend.
Lawrence Taylor included in Madden 20 Ultimate Legends Group 16 reveal
The Madden 20 Bowl group play has been going down remotely between qualified gamers these past several days. During Friday night’s proceedings, the reveal came for the new Madden 20 Ultimate Legends Group 16. Former New York Giants defensive star Lawrence Taylor leads the group with his best card in the game.
The new Lawrence Taylor Ultimate Legends item allows gamers to have the Giants great at 99 overall. The 6-foot-3 right outside linebacker has 98 Power Moves, 97 Finesse Moves, 95 Block Shedding, 95 Acceleration, 94 Tackle, 93 Strength and 92 Speed.
Taylor is joined this weekend by “Sweetness” himself, Walter Payton. The Bears halfback has 99 Break Tackle, 98 Agility, 97 Trucking, 97 Acceleration, 96 Speed, and 95 Elusiveness amongst key attributes.
This weekend’s limited-availability Ultimate Legends player for packs is former Falcons great Jessie Tuggle. The middle linebacker brings 99 Tackle, 96 Hit Power, 96 Play Recognition, 96 Block Shedding, 92 Speed, and 91 Strength.

LT’s previous best card was his 94 overall for the NFL 100 players promotion. For Walter Payton, it was his 95 overall Zero Chill item, while Jessie Tuggle previously had a 94 overall item for the regular Legends program.
How to get Ultimate Legends items, new challenges
While these new Madden 20 Ultimate Legends Group 16 players were revealed on Friday, they don’t make their way into the game until Saturday. Typically, the new player cards and new Ultimate Challenges are live after 10 or 11 a.m. Eastern Time.
There are multiple ways to get the above cards. They are randomly available through packs and Store offers. The Jessie Tuggle is in packs for the next 48 hours (after Saturday’s release). All three of the cards above are also going to make their way to the Auction House where gamers can bid or buy now.
In addition, there are collection sets that can be put together to acquire the Lawrence Taylor or Walter Payton cards. These require the players’ five lower-rated Ultimate Legends cards. For last weekend’s UL Group 15, gamers needed an 89 OVR, 90 OVR, 90 OVR, 91 OVR, 95 OVR, and 97 OVR for the set. Those cards are randomly in packs or for sale on the Auction Browser.
Four new Ultimate Legends Challenges will be in the game after 10 a.m. ET. Two of those are for the Lawrence Taylor and Walter Payton Power Up items. One challenge allows gamers to earn a random Ultimate Legends player along with Madden Coins.
The other challenge is the Ultimate Legends Kickoff. This one involves winning a game to earn a free Ultimate Legends token. A total of 16 of those tokens will earn a free Career Edition Ultimate Legends player.
