The Madden 20 Ultimate Legends Group 22 got its early reveal on Friday night ahead of becoming available this weekend. Leading the way for the newest trio is Super Bowl winning quarterback Joe Montana. He’s joined by free safety Sean Taylor and fullback Franco Harris. All three have upgraded cards capable of 99 OVR with Power Up items. Here’s a look at the cards and how to get them.
Madden 20 Ultimate Legends Group 22: First look at new cards
On Friday evening, Madden Ultimate Team gave a first look at the three newest Ultimate Legends. The legendary Joe Montana returns as part of Madden 20 Ultimate Legends Group 22 as he is this weekend’s LTD card. The former San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was previously part of the NFL 100 QB group.
Now he gets a much better card at 99 overall with upgraded attributes. For Joe’s new card, the 6-foot-2 QB has 99 Throw Under Pressure, 98 Throw Accuracy Short, 98 Throw Accuracy Mid, 97 Play Accuracy Deep, and 97 Play Action for Key Attributes.
Joining Montana is a player many members of the community have been asking about. Sean Taylor now has a 99 OVR Ultimate Legends card to outdo his 95 OVR Zero Chill card. With the new UL item, Taylor has 99 Hit Power, 97 Acceleration, 97 Pursuit, 97 Speed, 96 zone Coverage, 94 Play Recognition, and 92 Tackle.
Also included in the trio above is former Pittsburgh Steelers great Franco Harris. On his new fullback card, Harris gets 99 Carrying, 98 Awareness, 93 Speed, 89 Strength, and 89 Impact Blocking. He has slightly better carrying than the 98 OVR Christian Okoye, and four points higher Awareness. However, Okoye has the same speed and outdoes Harris’ Strength by six points.
New challenges and where to get items in Ultimate Team
Joe Montana is the LTD card this weekend, so his card will be available in packs randomly for 48 hours starting on Saturday morning. His card should also pop up on the Auction Browser and carry a high price due to rarity. With Sean Taylor and Franco Harris, gamers have multiple cards to look for.
In order to get Taylor or Harris’ “Boss” Ultimate Legends item shown above, you’ll need to put together an exchange set of their five other cards. Those should be the 89, 90, 91, 95, and 97 OVR cards which are found in packs, or on the Auction Browser.
Both Taylor and Harris also have new Ultimate Legends Challenges. With these challenges, gamers can earn Madden Coins and both Taylor and Harris’ Power Up items. These should show up around 10:30 or 11 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday (June 20). It’s worth noting that Taylor’s Power Up is currently selling in auction listings for 40,000 Coins and higher.
There are two additional challenges where you’ll have to defeat the Ultimate Legends team with your MUT squad. One of these is worth Coins and a free random Ultimate Legends player item. The other is worth Coins and an Ultimate Legends Token.
The token can be put into an exchange set of 16 tokens which are exchanged for a free random Boss Ultimate Legends player. Alternately, the token has a Quicksell value of 10,000 Coins. Those extra Coins may come in handy for anyone still trying to buy cards for the Rookie Premiere exchange sets.
