Madden 20 Veterans: Alex Smith, Antoine Bethea Get New Ultimate Team Cards
The past week has featured plenty of new content to keep Madden 20 Ultimate Team fans playing the mode. Along with the usual Flashbacks, Heavyweights, and Signature Series, EA dropped the new Harvest promotion with a large number of player items. On Friday, they unveiled their two brand new Madden 20 Veterans as Alex Smith and Antoine Bethea received MUT upgrades.
New Alex Smith, Antoine Bethea Madden 20 Veterans cards
The Madden 20 Veterans program includes players who have enjoyed productive careers in the NFL for some time. Current Washington Redskins quarterback Alex Smith was sidelined by a right leg infection and surgery last season. Since Smith has been out, rookie Dwayne Haskins has taken over this current campaign in DC.
However, Smith has been in the league since 2005 and is a three-time NFL Pro Bowl selection. He’s tallied over 34,000 yards and 193 touchdowns on a 62.4 completion percent during his career. He nows gets an 89 overall Madden 20 Veterans card which includes 94 Throw Accuracy Short, 87 Throw on the Run, and 85 Throw Power.
Joining Smith as the newest member of the program is free safety, Antoine Bethea. The current New York Giants star has played in 203 games since 2006 with multiple seasons in Indianapolis, San Francisco, and Arizona.
During his career, he’s racked up 25 interceptions for 312 yards and a touchdown. A career 964 solo tackles and 9.5 sacks also add to the three-time Pro Bowler’s resume, as does being part of a Super Bowl-winning team.
See the new Veterans items below including Bethea’s new 89 OVR card. It includes 91 Play Recognition, 86 Pursuit, and 85 Zone Coverage as some of his key attributes.
These latest MUT items may not be the most enticing for many community members. There are plenty of great options available for quarterback depending on where a MUT squad is based on a scrambler or great passer. There are also some great players available at free safety including a surprising Calvin Johnson MUT 10 card that dropped weeks ago.
Where to get the new cards & latest costs
The Madden 20 Veterans packs are available at the Ultimate Team Store. Currently, these packs cost 2,000 Madden Training. Each of the packs gives one random 88 OVR or better Veterans player. So it’s a gamble as to which player you’ll land when buying these.
The other way to obtain Alex Smith or Antoine Bethea is through the Auction Browser. Other gamers are selling their player cards there for Madden Coins. However, the bids and buy now prices can be quite expensive depending on what the card is.
As of our latest check, Alex Smith cards were going for a “Buy Now” of anywhere from 75,000 to 117,600 Coins on PS4 listings. The Antoine Bethea listings were in the range of 72,800 to 98,600 Coins, as of this report.
