One of the exciting aspects for the new Madden 20 football game will be its Superstar X-Factor players. These will be special superstars in the game who possess an “X-Factor” and “In-Zone Abilities.” EA mentioned there will be 50 players with this aspect. They also announced plans to reveal all of the Madden 20 X-Factor players and their abilities in June.
Madden 20 Superstar X-Factor players revealed
In recent Madden 20 gameplay videos, we’ve seen a glimpse of some of the upcoming X-Factor players in the game. These include stars such as Drew Brees, Odell Beckham Jr., Ezekiel Elliott, Antonio Brown, and Tom Brady. On the EA Madden Twitter, they’ve promised that all of the players with X-Factor are going to be revealed in increments by June 28. Along with their tweet is an image with many of the stars mentioned above.
Front and center is the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes who’s also Madden 20’s cover star. Mahomes has one of the two offensive Superstar X-Factor abilities that EA officially revealed so far. His ability is “Bazooka” in reference to his quarterback cannon of an arm.
The ability increases Mahomes’ maximum throwing distance by over 15 yards. That gives a maximum throwing distance of up to 80 yards. To trigger this, gamers will need to complete five passes of over 40 yards. By the way, if a defender sacks Mahomes, it knocks him out of the zone, and he loses the X-Factor.
The other offensive Superstar X-Factor ability that EA revealed is Satellite. This improves backs’ chances to win RAC and possession catches versus single coverage. To get in the zone, the specific player with this X-Factor ability has to complete seven catches of over 10 yards. The two Madden 20 X-Factor players revealed to have the ability (so far) are the Saints’ Alvin Kamara and Panthers’ Christian McCaffrey.
JuJu Smith-Schuster, other X-Factor stars
Some of the NFL players out there are already boasting of their Superstar X-Factor abilities. That includes JuJu Smith-Schuster who was also part of the EA Play 2019 gameplay demo for Madden 20 in California. Smith-Schuster, as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers, shared a video clip of his Superstar X-Factor on Twitter. Check it out below as it appears the NFL star himself, a fan of the game, is ready to see who can stop him now.
Smith-Schuster has the “Double Me” X-Factor which means he can win aggressive catches versus single coverage. He’s among the Steelers’ biggest weapons for the upcoming season now that Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell have departed. It’s going to be interesting to see if Madden gives Le’Veon Bell an X-Factor, even though he was on the sidelines for the 2018-19 season.
So that brings our list of players to several from Madden themselves, but many more in terms of what we’ve seen. Smith-Schuster joins Mahomes, Kamara, Donald, and McCaffrey as officially revealed X-Factor players. The “non-official” reveals included Elliott, Ertz, Ramsay, Brown, Beckham Jr, Brady and Drew Brees. Travis Kelce is shown as a featured player on Madden’s tweet image up above too.
Who else will make it into the 50 players? We’ll have to wait for more details to arrive from the EA Madden listing for potential surprises.
