Madden 21 Celebrations: How to Celebrate, Showboat, or Taunt in Madden 21

With the release of Madden 21 comes plenty of new aspects of the game. They’ve taken the Madden 21 celebrations to a new level of sorts, giving gamers some more control over them. In addition, there are options for showboating and taunting on certain plays. We’ve got your guide here for how to do all of the above, but especially how to celebrate in Madden 21.

How to perform Madden 21 celebrations

The Madden 21 celebrations are typically when your offensive player scores on a touchdown or two-point conversion. They also are available for certain defensive plays too, such as that drive-stopping sack, or big interception.

With Madden 21, there are now player-controlled celebrations. So you’ll now see a menu guide pop up on the screen for your player’s celebration options. Once it does, you have a quick bit of time to use Right Stick on the controller to choose a type of celebration and press X to select it.

  • To pick a celebration, use RS to choose and X to select.

As shown below, the on-screen celebrations include the following options:

  • Up for Swagger celebration
  • Right for Dance celebration
  • Down for Flex celebration
  • Left for Signature celebration

The celebrations are available on defense as well, once a player comes up with a huge play such as a sack, drive-ending tackle, (below), interception, or other big play.

After some practice, it’ll become second nature, although gamers who had Madden 20 will see the Madden 21 celebrations involve similar button use.

When and how to taunt or showboat on a play

You can also do a taunt or showboat move when you’ve got the ball on a breakaway play in Madden 21. You’ll need to have broken away from the defense to run the ball down the field first. It may also work with a defender, after recovering a fumble or picking off a pass to take it down the field.

From there, hold R2 on the PS4 controller, or RT on the Xbox One controller. That will make your player sprint.

Then, there are two Showboat options:

  • Press L2 + R2 (PS4) or LT + RT (Xbox One).
  • Press L2 + R2 + X (PS4) or LT + RT + A (Xbox One).

The first option is an expressive running motion. The second is more of a hold the ball out at arm’s length to show that you have it and nobody’s taking it. You can see both of the showboating options in action in the YouTube video below.
