Madden 21 Early Access: EA Play to Make Game Available One Week Early

The new football simulation title Madden 21 is set to become available next week in various editions. While many gamers will be able to play the game three days early starting on Tuesday, another promotion is making it available even earlier. That’s the EA Play service, which will give gamers Madden 21 early access for the game, in a limited capacity.

EA Play to give Madden 21 early access for subscribers

EA Play is basically the rebranded EA Access subscription service. It brings a collection of titles to members, special discounts, and early access to “select new-release titles.” That will include Madden 21 early access, starting on Friday, August 21, a full week ahead of the game’s official release date.

The service is available for Microsoft Xbox One, Sony PlayStation 4, and Origin PC gamers. It carries a cost of $4.99 per month or $29.99 a year with it. That will unlock Madden NFL 21 and probably other upcoming EA titles such as FIFA 21 and NHL 21.

Here’s the fine print from the EA Play membership benefits:

  • Unlock exclusive challenges and rewards, member-only content, early trials of new releases, and access to a library of top titles.
  • Play select new-release games for up to 10 hours even before they launch.
  • Get more to play with unlimited access to a collection of Electronic Arts’ fan-favorite series and top titles.
  • Save 10%* on all EA digital purchases on PlayStation®4 including game downloads, Season Passes, points packs, and DLC.

As seen in the second benefit above, members get “up to 10 hours” to play select new-release games, which includes EA’s Madden 21 early access. The 10 hours are only in the new Ultimate Team mode, giving gamers a headstart on the challenges and events for MUT 21.

Here’s everything that is included with the game on EA Play:

EA Play Pro membership also available

While EA Play is available as a standard membership, there’s a higher level option called EA Play Pro. That is only available for the Origin PC, though. It carries a higher price, too, of $14.99 per month or $99.99 per year.

With EA Play Pro, gamers get early access to deluxe versions of new EA games, unlimited access to the Pro Play list of games, pro-level rewards and content, as well as 10 percent savings on EA digital purchases.

The library of games for EA Play and EA Play Pro are extensive too. They have all of the current EA Sports titles including FIFA 20, NHL 20, Madden 20, and NBA Live 19. In addition, they have older sports titles like UFC 3, Madden 19, and NBA Live 18, as well as popular games like Star Wars Battlefront, Titanfall 2, and Mass Effect Andromeda.

Otherwise, those who pre-ordered Madden 21 MVP or Deluxe Edition can begin playing the game Aug. 25 on their console or PC, while those with Standard Edition begin play on Aug. 28, 2020.
