As many fans anticipate the arrival of EA Sports’ new Madden 21 game, there are those who continue to demand changes for the Franchise Mode. It appears that EA Sports has committed to making some big changes, but unfortunately they won’t come until the next edition of the game. Based on recent comments from the sports game company, they’ll have “high-level” changes coming for Madden 22.
Madden 21 Franchise mode to receive several updates
As the Madden community has continued a #FixMaddenFranchise campaign on social media, EA Sports has taken notice. In an Aug. 3 Gridiron Notes on their website, they indicated that improvements will come for the Madden 21 Franchise mode after the game has released.
Based on comments in those notes, there will “two or three” Madden 21 updates over the coming months to bring improvements. Per comments on their article, the goal is a “more focused delivery of Franchise improvements based on your feedback, while continuing to evolve the broader game for our wide cross-section of Madden fans.”
The changes will bring upgrades for user interface elements as well as customization options, tuning changes, and commission tools for more franchise control. That may not satisfy all Madden 21 Franchise mode fans, though.
Madden 22 could get biggest changes
Since Madden 21 Franchise mode will get two or three updates over the course of the game’s season, Madden 22 may get even more. Based on EA’s Gridiron Notes, they’ll look to improve the mode in Madden 21, 22, and beyond.
Madden 22 could have the biggest changes for the mode. That could include improvements for scouting as well as coaching and staff management. In addition, they are looking at a new team chemistry system and scenario engine enhancements.
Best of all, they are considering more content such as better customization for relocation and branding of a franchise. This could include new uniforms, names, and logos along with relocation options. Fans are probably hoping to be able to create team names and custom jerseys, but that remains to be seen. However, it would be a major return to form for the mode.
As the EA team mentions, it’s still very early in the Madden 22 development. However, this does make it seem like they’re paying close attention to community feedback. Time will tell how much of the community’s feedback is taken into consideration and incorporated into the Madden Franchise mode.
Madden 21 has a release date of Aug. 28, 2020, for the Standard Edition with Lamar Jackson as the cover star. The game arrives three days earlier for anyone who pre-orders the Ultimate or MVP Edition of the game.
