Madden 21 NFL Championship Series Adds New Sponsors Including Oakley, Gillette to Growing List

As of Tuesday, EA Sports has revealed that several new sponsors will be part of the Madden 21 NFL Championship Series. With the new sponsors, EA revealed they have nearly double the amount of sponsors involved with the MCS last season. The big news arrives ahead of the second week of exclusive programs focused on competitive Madden 21 games including Derwin James vs. The World. Here are more details about which sponsors are stepping into the virtual arena this season.

New sponsors revealed for Madden NFL Championship Series

Over the past several seasons of Madden NFL Championship Series (MCS), gamers have seen NFL official marketing partner Snickers and Pizza Hut among sponsors. The latter of these sponsors has provided Pizza Hut Stadium as the exclusive venue for use during the competitive games.

A number of other sponsors are joining them for the Madden 21 competitive events. Gillette, Campbell’s Chunky, and Oakley will officially sponsor Madden 21 NFL Championship Series, making history as the most sponsors ever.

“Coming off the biggest product year in the history of the franchise and the star-studded, entertainment-driven evolution of MCS programming, Madden NFL 21 has stepped onto an elevated platform of opportunity for brand partnerships in the world of competitive gaming,” said Vida Mylson, Sr. Director of Commercial Brand Partnerships at EA SPORTS.

“Alongside this world-class roster of sponsors, all connected by our affiliation to the NFL, we’ll deliver new and authentic brand experiences that fuel football culture and resonate with the next generation of fans,” Mylson added.

Brands integrated with different aspects of Madden 21 experience

Each sponsor has integrated itself with the game in different ways. As mentioned, Pizza Hut provides the official virtual stadium for the MCS games. Snickers is entering its third consecutive season as a sponsor of the Madden NFL Championship Series. They will continue to celebrate highlights from the game through  #SnickersTop5Plays and SNICKERS® Moment of the Year, among other features.

Oakley is the presenting sponsor for the new show Derwin James vs. The World. The sponsorship coincides with the new Prizm™ Gaming product which is Oakley’s first optical solution developed for gaming. Derwin James’ show is part of a Madden lineup that streams Tuesdays on Twitch and YouTube. Gamers are able to earn a free token by watching up to an hour of programming.

Gillette is a longtime NFL sponsor, and is part of the new mode in Madden 21, The Yard. There’s a Gillette style zone as part of the mode allowing gamers to customize their created football player. The company is promoting an “Every Day is Gameday” campaign for the current NFL season and has an official NFL Team Razor available for all 32 teams.

Speaking of all NFL teams, gamers can currently register to potentially compete for the Madden NFL 21 Club Championship. Just for registering, gamers with an active EA account and Madden Ultimate Team will get a free Madden Ultimate Team Elite Fantasy Pack. That pack allows for the choice of one of 32 players (one from each team) for use with Madden Ultimate Team.

Exclusive MCS programs return September 22

The announcement of the new sponsors comes after last week’s successful debut of new streaming programs King of the Hill and Derwin James vs. The World. With King of the Hill, there are separate tournaments going on weekly. One of those features NFL rookies going one on one, while the other features professional Madden gamers as part of Madden 21 NFL Championship Series.

Last week’s event included a battle between the Las Vegas Raiders’ Henry Ruggs and Atlanta Falcons’ A.J. Terrell. As far as pro gamers, it was Boogz vs. Kiv. Meanwhile, Derwin James showcased his skills on the sticks, besting hip-hop star Lil Baby 44-0 in the debut of the show.

Both shows return to live stream on Tuesday, September 22, starting at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Derwin James is set to take on hip-hop star Quavo in his latest episode, with a reveal of the brand new music video for “Cut Me In” by Anderson Paak and Rick Ross. The song appears on the official Madden 21 soundtrack.
