Madden 21 NFL Playoffs Promo Launches With 95 OVR Heroes, Challenges, and Steve Smith Sr. Master Item
With the NFL Wild Card Weekend coming up, the Madden 21 NFL Playoffs promo is also launching. It will allow gamers to add some new upgraded player cards to their teams in a variety of ways. Amongst the players revealed with high-rated cards are the Bucs’ Tom Brady, Bears’ Mitchell Trubisky, and the Browns’ Denzel Ward. There’s also Playoffs Master, Steve Smith Sr. available for MUT rosters.
Madden 21 NFL Playoffs promo: Playoff Heroes revealed
A variety of 95 overall cards will be part of the Madden 21 NFL Playoffs promo for the AFC and NFC. These will be the Playoffs Heroes. In the AFC that includes Tennessee Titans QB Ryan Tannehill, Chiefs strong safety Tyrann Mathieu, Bills receiver John Brown, and Steelers halfback James Conner.

Over in the NFC, Chicago Bears fans will be happy to see an upgraded Mitchell Trubisky card with 96 Throwing Power, 93 Short Passing Accuracy, and 89 Speed. He’s joined by teammate Akiem Hicks who also gets a new 95 OVR item. Other players in the NFC for the promo include Bucs quarterback Tom Brady, Rams wide receiver Robert Woods, and Seahawks WR DK Metcalf.

Players are able to earn a 95 OVR Playoffs Hero item by completing the new missions and racking up 60 Stars. Additionally, cards will be available randomly in packs at the Madden Store, or through bidding at the Auction House.
Gamers can acquire a 95 OVR Playoffs Celebration Pack by trading in three 89-90 OVR cards, five 87-88 OVR cards, and seven 85-86 OVR cards. This will allow a choice of any 94 OVR Playoffs Celebration player.
New Challenges and rewards
By going into Madden 21 Ultimate Team and heading to Challenges, gamers will find the NFL Playoffs Celebration. This sequence of Challenges features different missions to acquire Stars, Coins, and a 95 OVR NAT Playoffs Hero.
The two sequences right now are Playoff Celebration and Maybe Next Year.Playoffs Celebration is worth a total of 56 Stars and 6,300 Coins. Maybe Next Year is worth a total of 44 Stars and 4,950 Coins.
Here’s a look at the Milestone rewards tier to start the promo:
- Tier1 – 12 Stars = 1,000 Coins
- Tier 2 – 24 Stars = 2,000 Coins
- Tier3 – 36 Stars = 2,000 Coins
- Tier 4 – 48 Stars = 3,000 Coins
- Tier5 – 60 Stars = 95 OVR NAT Playoffs Player
- Tier 6 – 72 Stars = 1,000 Coins
- Tier7 – 84 Stars = 2,000 Coins
- Tier 8 – 92 Stars = 3,000 Coins
- Tier9 – 100 Stars = 5,000 Coins
There will also be weekly missions under Super Bowl Prep: Launch. By completing the weekly playoffs missions, gamers acquire Super Bowl Prep Tokens. They’ll be exchangeable for an Elite Super Bowl Player in February. This part of the promo ends January 15 at 10 a.m. ET.
Last year, gamers were able to get a pretty nice card for Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes, so it should be interesting to see who it is this year.
How to get Steve Smith Sr. Playoff Master
The Madden 21 NFL Playoffs Master will be a 95 OVR former wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. from the Carolina Panthers. All gamers will receive an 83 OVR item in their NFL Playoffs Welcome Pack upon logging into Madden Ultimate Team. It has a Quicksell Value of 225 Training.
However, the higher-rated 98 OVR Master item is the one to get. Check out the attributes and details below for the new item. Due to the fact it will be able to get up to such a high rating, it also unlocks a fourth ability slot.
In order to get that Steve Smith Sr. item, gamers will need to build a set consisting of the Legends released during each week of the NFL Playoffs. They will be released over the next several weeks for Wild Card, Divisional, and Championship rounds.
The Steve Smith Sr. Masters Set was not yet live in Ultimate Team as of this report, but other aspects of the promotion above are. That includes new challenges, and the Playoffs Heroes available in Packs, at the Auction House, and through Milestone Rewards.
