Madden 21 Power Up Expansion Cards: Group 6 Includes Christian McCaffrey, Michael Thomas
Another group of Madden 21 Power Up Expansion cards is ready for Ultimate Team. These cards allow gamers to upgrade specific players to 99 overall with significant attribute boosts, abilities, and team chemistry options. Based on a tease from EA’s Madden Ultimate Team two of the game’s offensive stars, Michael Thomas and Christian McCaffrey, will headline the latest release. Here are more details on the upcoming Power Up Expansion group.
McCaffrey, Thomas among Madden 21 Power Up Expansion group
All Pro halfback Christian McCaffrey is amongst the 99 Club members in Madden, and could very well be there when Madden 22 is released. For Ultimate Team, he’s got a number of high-rated cards available and now he can achieve 99 OVR through the Power Up.
EA’s MUT team teased his new Madden 21 Power Up Expansion card on Monday evening and includes 99 Carrying, Change of Direction, and Agility. CMC also gets 97 Acceleration, 96 Speed, and 89 for his Catching on this new item.
He’s joined by another member of Madden’s 99 Club, Mr. Michael Thomas. The Saints receiver set a single-season record for receptions last year, and looks to continue his upward trend in the NFL each season. With Drew Brees officially retired, he’ll now catch passes from a new field general.
With many gamers using him in Ultimate Team as one of their WRs, he can now be fully upgraded to 99 OVR. His card includes the 99s for Short Route, Catching, and Catch in Traffic. There’s also 97 Medium Route, Spectacular Catch, along with a 96 Speed on this card.

This will be the sixth release for the program. The two cards teased on Monday night will be part of a group of Madden 21 Power Up Expansion cards released into the game on Tuesday, June 22. Based on previous releases, there will be a total of six cards in the group.
Last week’s fifth PUP Expansion release included new cards for the Bears’ Khalil Mack, the 49ers’ Nick Bosa, and former Detroit Lions receiver Calvin “Megatron” Johnson. Other recent 99 OVR releases featured Rob Gronkowski, James Harrison, and Jamaal Charles.
The Power Up cards typically arrive in Ultimate Team after 11 a.m. Eastern Time. They will randomly appear in packs, with the cards also sold at Madden’s Auction House. Gamers can then use Training to Power up the cards through their various Tier levels.
In addition, it’s possible to use specific cards as part of the upgrade path. For example, a player’s Core Elite or MUT Heroes card might be usable for the upgrade.
