The Madden 21 Ultimate Legends continue to arrive during the NFL offseason, giving gamers more options for upgrading MUT rosters. This coming weekend’s group will be the fifth release and once again features an offensive and defensive player with different level cards.
For the offense, former New York Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey is available. Meanwhile, there will be defensive star Darrelle Revis available as another option for corners. There’s also a limited all-time great card in the release for Herschel Walker.
Revis and Shockey join Madden 21 Ultimate Legends
On Friday evening, a Madden 21 Ultimate Legends reveal arrived courtesy of Twitter. The official Madden Ultimate Team account tweeted out images of the Group 5 player’s new items. First up was seven-time Pro Bowler and former Super Bowl champion Darrelle Revis. The four-time All-Pro cornerback gets an impressive 98 card as his best available item.
In terms of key attributes, Revis gets 98s for both Play Recognition and Pass Rushing. He also has a sweet 95 speed rating, along with 96 acceleration. Jumping and Agility are also at 95s, giving a great option for the cornerback spot. He’s considered a Man to Man Archetype, and also can benefit from various boosts with Chemistry or other upgrades.
There’s obviously no shortage of good tight ends in the game with options like Darren Waller and Tony Gonzalez available. However, former All-Pro and two-time Super Bowl champion Jeremy Shockey will now be available with a 98 OVR card. It includes 98 scores for Catching, Medium Route, Short Route, and Catch in Traffic. Shockey also has a great 97 Spectacular Catch and a very good 92 Speed.
Like Revis, this Madden 21 Ultimate Legends card works with a Power Up item and can also be upgraded through Team Chemistry and other Ultimate Team options.
Last but not least is two-time All-Pro halfback Herschel Walker, who gets a card for the Dallas Cowboys here. His card is the weekend’s LTD release featuring 98 Break Tackle, 97 Acceleration, 97 Trucking, and 96 Speed as key attributes.
MUT Challenges, Packs, and Auction House
The Madden 21 Ultimate Legends arrive in-game typically on Saturday mornings around or after 11 a.m. Eastern Time. At that time, gamers will find these players’ cards randomly available through packs.
Limited cards (LTDs) are available for 48 hours. There are also exchange sets where gamers can put together lower-level cards of each player to complete sets to exchange for their top-tier items.
In addition, there are usually challenges for each of the Ultimate Legends players. So both Darrelle Revis and Jeremy Shockey will have them available. These typically will require defeating the Legend player’s squad using one’s Madden Ultimate Team.
Defeating challenges will earn rewards such as Madden Coins and the Ultimate Legend player’s Power Up. Gamers can acquire as much as 5,800 Coins based on the past few Challenges in the series.
There’s also a separate challenge available to acquire Madden 21 Ultimate Legends token. By collecting a number of these, gamers can put them into an exchange set for a random player from the promotion.
Keep in mind that both Revis and Shockey’s cards should also start to pop up on the Madden Auction House. So that’s another way to acquire various cards of each player to either boost a MUT roster, or complete those exchange sets.
