This past weekend, many gamers who completed the Madden 21 Ultimate Legends Token Exchange set were left without receiving anything as a reward. That brought some rather upset individuals online, but EA’s Madden NFL Direct team stepped in and looked into the issue.
Several days later, they have resolved the issue and given fans an update on what to do. In addition, there’s a bonus reward for anyone who was affected by the issue.
Madden 21 Ultimate Legends Token Exchange set issue
With Ultimate Team mode, there are many different promotions or programs, including challenges and exchange sets. With exchange sets, generally, gamers need to collect different cards and add them to the set. Once it’s completed, they receive a specific reward.
With the Madden 21 Ultimate Legends Token Exchange set (below), gamers needed to play in the game that arrived each weekend with the promotion in order to earn a token. After getting 15 of the Madden UL Tokens, the set was complete. The reward was a Random Auctionable/Tradeable Career Edition Ultimate Legends player.
As of Saturday, May 22, there were gamers indicating they completed the set but didn’t receive any reward once they finished it.
Update arrives with issue fixed and extra reward
On Monday afternoon, the Madden NFL Direct Twitter gave another update regarding the issue, this time indicating they had fixed things. However, based on their tweets, gamers need to log into Ultimate Team on their game and then play a game in the mode. That could be Solo Battles, Head 2 Head, or any other game in the mode. Once gamers played a game, it would trigger the Madden 21 Ultimate Legends Exchange Set reward.
In addition, a follow-up tweet update gave more good news. Anyone affected by the exchange set issue on Saturday between 10:30 a.m. and 12:06 p.m. Eastern Time will also receive an Ultimate Legends Fantasy Pack. Not a bad bonus item.
Madden UL features all-time greats Vick, Moss, Taylor, and more
Earlier during Ultimate Team season, the Legends set arrived for the mode. These cards went as high as 96 OVR in ratings for the Career Edition. However, the Ultimate Legends made things even better, with the players released in that promotion getting up to 99 OVR. That’s the best possible rating in Madden.
The Ultimate Legends feature a total of 38 players released so far. Among them are offensive threats like Brett Favre, Randy Moss, Michael Vick, Eddie George, Tony Gonzalez, LaDainian Tomlinson, Calvin Johnson, and Jim Thorpe.
Defensive stars featured in Madden 21 Ultimate Legends include Derrick Thomas, Derrick Brooks, Ed Reed, DeMarcus Ware, Patrick Willis, and Darrell Revis. The most recent Ultimate Legends Group 15 featured the late, great Sean Taylor amongst the newest options.
All of the above players are currently available through exchange sets of their own which require a combination of cards to get them. In addition, they may appear randomly in packs, or gamers can hit the Auction House to see if there are any good deals to be had.
