Over the past week, EA has been revealing the various Madden 21 X-Factor players. These players will have special abilities known as Superstar X-Factors that are activated once they complete certain in-game requirements. We’ve seen X-Factors revealed for quarterbacks including Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, as well as halfback X-Factor players like Christian McCaffrey. Thursday brings us a look at abilities for 12 of the star players catching passes on various teams.
Madden 21 X-Factor Players George Kittle, Michael Thomas & Keenan Allen
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle is one of several players close to the 99 Club. In terms of Madden 21 X-Factor players, Kittle will have one of the brand new abilities called Yac ’Em Up.
With this new Superstar X-Factor, Kittle has an “increased chance to break the first post-catch tackle.” To activate it, he’ll need three consecutive receptions of 20 yards or more. However, opponents can knock the ability out if there’s one drop, incompletion, or three consecutive non-targets.
Fans will remember Rac ‘Em Up appeared in Madden 20. That will be back for the new game as the Buffalo Bills’ Stefon Diggs will have the ability. With three receptions of 20 yards or more, Diggs will be able to win RAC catches against single coverage. Opponents can knock him out of the zone with a drop, incompletion, or three-straight non-targets.
The New Orleans Saints’ Michael Thomas is the lone member of this group who is part of the Madden 21 game’s 99 Club. Both he and the Los Angeles Chargers’ Keenan Allen will get the Max Security X-Factor.
This gives them a high success rate on possession catches. Gamers will be able to trigger this one by making four consecutive completions with the player. However, it will be deactivated with just one drop/incompletion or three straight passes to someone besides that receiver.
Multiple players have the Double Me X-Factor
There will be a total of six Madden 21 X-Factor players who have the ability known as Double Me. They are Travis Kelce (Chiefs), Mike Evans (Buccaneers), Julio Jones (Falcons), DeAndre Hopkins (Cardinals), Davante Adams (Packers), and Adam Thielen (Vikings).
Double Me is making its return to the game after appearing as one of the Superstar X-Factors in Madden 20. This is an ability where the receiver can win aggressive catches against single coverage. To activate it, all that’s needed are two receptions of 20 yards or more. However, one drop/incompletion or three consecutive plays where the receiver isn’t the target will deactivate it.
