Weeks ago, Electronic Arts revealed a Madden 21 Xbox Series X upgrade offer for gamers who purchased the new game for the Xbox One. It would allow for upgrading the game version to the next-gen version free of charge. While that’s great as is, an issue came due to the time in which they had to get that offer. Now there are new details that show EA is extending the upgrade offer in terms of the timetable to buy the new game.
EA extends window for Madden 21 Xbox Series X upgrade offer
With the Xbox Series X upgrade offer, gamers who buy the Xbox One version of the game can get a free upgrade to the next-gen version. The initial details involved buying a copy of the Madden 21 game for Xbox One by December 31. Customers then had until March 31, 2021 to complete an upgrade to Xbox Series X.
However, that’s now been extended. EA recently updated heir website information noting they’d taken customer feedback into account and given a much longer time period to make the upgrade.
Here are the full details from the EA website update:
During our recent Inside Xbox announce, we included some dates limiting this Dual Entitlement approach. Having listened to our players response we’re extending the offer all the way through our Madden 21 season up to the release of Madden NFL 22, so players can upgrade to Madden NFL 21 on Xbox Series X whenever they first purchase their new console within that period.
Based on the new information, gamers will have well beyond March 31 to complete the upgrade for the Madden 21 Xbox Series X. Typically the Madden season runs right up until August when the new game arrives. As far as when the Xbox Series X console arrives, it’s expected by the holiday season of 2020 with no official release date given yet.
When is Madden 21 release date?
As of this report, there has not been an official Madden 21 release date revealed. However, there were speculative reports that talked about a potential information leak. Those reports claimed the new Madden title would release on August 28, with the earlier access pre-order version available August 25.
So far, that information has yet to be confirmed. EA had teased a special reveal event for June 1 but postponed that in order to offer support for the Black Lives Matter movement. EA hasn’t provided a new date for when the Madden 21 presentation will take place.
The YouTube video below shows off just a bit of Madden 21 Xbox Series X footage featuring Madden 20 cover star Patrick Mahomes.
Beyond the quick gameplay footage reveal and some leaked info, the cover athlete also leaked a few months ago. NFL MVP Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson accidentally leaked that he is the Madden 21 cover athlete during an interview he was part of. However, EA has yet to show off the new cover yet.
