Madden 22 Celebrations & Taunts: How to Do a Celebration Run or Showboat

Want to add a little something special for your plays in the EA Madden NFL game? Thanks to Madden 22 celebrations, taunts and showboating, you can add some extra flair to your big highlights. That includes celebrating a big sack, interception, or first down. Or you may want to know how to do a celebration run in Madden 22, so you can really taunt your opponent before you score. Here’s what you need to know about the controls.

How to do Madden 22 celebrations or taunts

Madden 22 celebrations and taunts allow gamers to put an exclamation point on big plays, just like many NFL stars do. Following a big play, such as a sack, interception, first down, or touchdown, you may get the option to celebrate the play in four different way. A celebration options menu will pop up on the screen, prompting you to make a choice.

Using the controller’s Right Stick, you can perform any of the following:

  • For a Swagger/First Down celebration – Press the Right Stick Up
  • To do a Dance Celebration – Press the Right Stick to the Right.
  • For a Spike or Flex celebration – Press Right Stick Down.
  • To do the Signature celebration – Press Right Stick to the Left.

You may not get the celebration on every defensive play or big run/catch, but you should always see the option on each touchdown you score. Keep in mind, the options remain on screen for a brief time, and if you wait too long to trigger one, you won’t get to do any.

How to do a celebration run or showboat in Madden 22

A celebration run in Madden 22 is different, as you can perform this with a player who has gotten away from the defense and is headed down the field. Typically, you’ll want to be headed to the end zone with the defenders behind you.

So how do you do a celebration run in Madden 22? As you’re running towards the end zone press the L2 on the PlayStation controller or LT button on the Xbox controller.

You won’t get to choose the specific celebration run that your player performs, so it will be randomly presented. The options will include a high-stepping run or waving at the defenders as you move towards the endzone.

How to dive into the endzone for the touchdown

Last but not least, you can also cap off a touchdown run by diving into the end zone. To do this, hold down the Square on the PlayStation controller as you are just near the goal line. Hold down X on the Xbox controller to perform the dive.
