EA’s new football sim game is coming in August of this year with fans anticipating the Madden 22 features. The game will include a new Dynamic Gameday feature. That will provide unique game experiences due to crowds and home venues impacting how teams and players play.
In addition, popular modes are on the way back with updates or changes such as Ultimate Team, The Yard, Superstar KO, and of course, Franchise. Thanks to a brand new podcast and upcoming deep dives, fans will learn more about Madden 22 features with Franchise leading the way.
M22 to feature updates for all popular modes
Several Madden 22 features on the way will include Dynamic Gameday and Next Gen Stats integration. There’s more customization in Face of the Franchise, plus ranked modes and a new challenge-based Solo campaign in The Yard. There are also what appears to be some “highly-requested updates” on the way for the popular Franchise mode.
A Community Playtest is currently underway, giving gamers an early preview of the game and a chance to weigh in with feedback. It includes the Play Now, Madden Ultimate Team, The Yard, Superstar KO (for Week 2 of Playtest), and “Completely new and improved Franchise” modes.
The Franchise mode is one many Madden community members have been giving continual feedback about for several years. EA addressed this during Madden 21, saying they’d been listening and would work on adding requested features.
Unfortunately, based on the latest notes about the Community Playtest, there appear to be quite a few issues that the development team is working on. Nonetheless, Madden fans will hope the devs can iron out the wrinkles to have a much more polished game by its release date in August.
Madden 22 features coverage includes podcast
On Friday, June 18, the Madden NFL Direct Twitter informed fans about a brand new podcast that will begin next week. It’s the “Making Madden” podcast which includes discussions on how they made decisions for various game updates. Based on the audio clip below, the podcast co-hosts will cover Franchise mode quite a bit.
The new podcast is co-hosted by Tom Lischke , Madden Franchise producer, and Andre Weingarten, one of the Franchise designers. While Franchise may get the most coverage, they mentioned they’ll bring in other team members to talk about things like Dynamic Gameday and Madden 22 Ultimate Team ahead of the game’s launch.
The podcast officially begins with Episode Zero on Tuesday, June 22. That episode will discuss a “heavily-requested” part of the Madden 22 features for Franchise mode. Madden fans can check out the podcast on any of their favorite services for streaming podcasts. That includes Spotify, Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, and Stitcher.
Schedule released for M22 topics including Franchise
Along with podcast episodes, there will be Deep Dives on Twitch and Gridiron Notes covering Madden 22 features or modes. Next week is billed as “All-Access” Franchise week, with the week following that dedicated to the new Dynamic Gameday features.
EA’s Madden NFL Twitter posted a statement (below) in which they talked about what’s on the way for Franchise mode.
Based on the schedule, gamers won’t find out about Madden player rankings until the week of July 26. Those typically bring plenty of debates over which players are too high or too low ahead of the NFL season. It also showcases the Madden 99 club featuring a select group of stars with perfect 99 overall ratings.
Nonetheless, fans should get plenty of coverage of Franchise and other modes or features in the coming weeks as they await those Madden 22 pre-orders set to arrive in August!
