EA Sports Madden NFL 22 is just around the corner, with pre-orders already taking place for the next installment in the series. While many are looking forward to new features including Dynamic Gameday or gameplay updates, a lot of focus is on Madden 22 Franchise Mode.
It appears like the mode will be completely revamped with changes based on community feedback. While many updates will be there when the game drops, a special Scouting feature will arrive after launch, presumably in September. Thanks to the EA Play Spotlight Series, fans will get a Deep Dive look into that feature very soon.
EA Play Live Spotlight Series to include Madden 22 Franchise Mode
In the new Madden 22 game, Scouting is a post-launch update, which EA says was a highly-requested feature from the community for Franchise Mode. Not a lot has been revealed about the mode, and it’s expected it will arrive sometime in September. That could be weeks after the game officially arrives on August 20, 2021.
Leading up to the launch of the game and the addition of the Scouting feature, there will be an event called EA Play Live Spotlight Series. The series spans the next month and covers multiple EA games and topics. Based on a schedule tweeted out by Electronic Arts (below), there will be a Madden NFL 22 All-Access: Scouting Deep Dive coming on July 19, starting at 4 p.m. Pacific Time (7 p.m. Eastern Time).
“Fans always influence their favorite games. This year, EA SPORTS™ Madden NFL 22 is taking that idea to a new level by putting the voice of the player at the heart of the development process earlier than ever via the Madden Design Council. Find out how fans impacted the development of Franchise Mode and helped bring to life highly requested features like Staff Management, weekly game strategy and a new scenario engine,” EA shared in their announcement.
“Plus, did we mention you’ll get the first ever deep dive reveal of the brand new scouting feature coming to Madden NFL 22 via a live service update targeted in September?” EA.com’s announcement said.
During EA’s Deep Dive video and Gridiron Notes about Franchise, they mentioned the Scouting update and some of what it will include. An exact date for the update in Madden 22 Franchise Mode has not been revealed. However, an announcement may arrive during the EA Play Live Spotlight Series content.
EA Play Live to include more Madden, sports game coverage
The EA Play Live Spotlight Series comes ahead of the bigger event known as EA Play Live. It features coverage of multiple EA games, with Madden 22 Franchise mode and/or other details likely included. That could include special reveals for Ultimate Team, Superstar KO, The Yard, or player ratings in the game.
Sports game fans are hoping to see additional EA games with reveals including FIFA 22, NHL 22, and more. There could also possibly be details about the upcoming college football or golf titles from the company. EA teased that part of the EA Play Live Spotlight Series on July 20 at 10 a.m. Pacific (1 p.m. Eastern Time) will cover “More EA Sports.”
Per EA’s announcement, that event will “highlight an extremely cool new addition to an extremely popular and long-running EA SPORTS franchise.”
So mark those calendars! The EA Play Live 2021 event will arrive on July 22 starting at 10:00 am Pacific Time (1 p.m. Eastern Time).
