A massive title update has arrived in early September for EA’s Madden NFL 22 video game. The update, which could take some time and extra storage space, is available for all consoles. It comes on the heels of numerous complaints about various glitches, including several in Franchise mode. It also addresses glitches or fixes and provides updates in every mode of the new game. Here’s the latest about the Madden 22 patch notes for the September 2 update.
Madden 22 Patch Notes address Franchise Glitches, including “Loss Glitch”
After it was previously announced on the Good Morning Madden Twitch stream, EA dropped a Madden 22 title on September 2. It’s no small update either, with a RealSport report indicating it uses 12.6 GB storage on the Xbox Series X or S consoles.
The Madden 22 patch notes give the full details on what the update includes. Right away, “Franchise Updates” stands out, due to an ongoing glitch in the game’s popular Franchise Mode.
The Franchise glitch, also known as the “Loss Glitch,” has frustrated gamers since the game’s release. Reportedly, it involves gamers winning a game based on their score, but when they return to the main menu, it’s counted as a loss. There’s also no stats on the screen associated with the game.
However, based on the patch notes released on Sept. 2, the Franchise glitch may now be resolved:
“Addressed an issue where some offline franchise players were given an incorrect game result after completing a game.
That particular issue is noted as addressed for all consoles or platforms with Franchise mode.
It’s just one small bit of the updates that arrived for Franchise. Based on the patch notes, the title also fixed other problems in the mode. That includes issues with player avatars displaying incorrectly, News for Offseason Stories, and Next Gen Stats tab of the Player Card.
In addition to the above, the patch notes reveal the title update improved a “head-to-head stability issue” in the mode, among other aspects for all consoles.
Madden 22 patch notes reveal gameplay, authenticity updates, more
As mentioned, the new title update addressed more than just Franchise mode. It brought fixes or changes in other Madden game modes for all game systems. Gameplay and authenticity updates. Authenticity updates include the addition of historic team uniforms, coach likeness updates, and fixes for helmets, mouthpieces, stadiums, and more.
Recently-released quarterback and former NFL MVP Cam Newton even got an update to his likeness.
For gameplay, the Madden 22 patch notes reveal the following updates for the PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PCs:
- Fixed issue with RPO Option plays having the wrong defender be the Read Key on the play
