Madden 22 Quarterback Ratings: Patrick Mahomes is Final Member of 99 Club
Is it any surprise who tops the Madden 22 quarterback ratings? EA may have saved the best for last as they revealed Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes as the fifth and final member of the Madden 99 Club.
Mahomes, who is a cover co-star alongside Super Bowl winner Tom Brady, gets yet another entry into the club as his career continues to progress. He also leads the top 10, with Brady still considered amongst the game’s best passers.
Patrick Mahomes is final 99 Club member
The Madden 99 Club features a who’s who of the NFL’s best players. In honor of their elite status, EA bestows these players with a 99 overall rating in their football video game.
Prior to Friday’s QB reveal, four other players were named to the club. They included Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams, and Los Angeles Rams defensive stars Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey. The best tight end in the game is the Chiefs’ Travis Kelce.
The man who throws him those pinpoint passes is also in the 99 Club, as Patrick Mahomes returns again. In the 2020-21 NFL season, Mahomes had 4,740 yards and 38 touchdowns with a 66.3 completion rate, adding to his career NFL stats.
ESPN revealed the news of Mahomes’ rating on Friday morning ahead of a reveal of top 10 quarterbacks.
The Chiefs finished 14-1 for the season and reached yet another Super Bowl behind the 2018 NFL MVP. Unfortunately, they met up with timeless Tom Brady, who captured another ring to add to his legendary career.
Mahomes’ in-game attributes include a 97 Awareness, 97 Throw Power, 96 Throw Under Pressure, and a 96 Toughness rating. The Chiefs are currently overall favorites to win the Super Bowl with +500 at many sportsbooks, thanks to Mahomes’ elite play.
Mahomes reacts to 99 Club honor, receives surprise gifts
Following the news of his addition to 99 Club, a video arrived in which he received the honor, including special gifts such as a gold “99” chain, and a handwritten note from John Madden.
His fiancee Brittany helped surprise him with the gifts as she had their baby daughter wearing a special 99 Club outfit. Upon receiving the gold chain he placed it on his baby daughter to show it off.
“‘Welcome to the club, John Madden.’ That’s sweet. Thank y’all,” Mahomes said after checking out the goodies. By now it’s become standard for the Chiefs star to be a member of the elite club.
Top 10 Madden 22 quarterback ratings include Brady, Rodgers, Jackson
The top 10 list is a group of players that have mostly become household names. Some of them have risen to fame quickly such as the Madden 21 cover star Lamar Jackson, who like Mahomes won an MVP Award. LJ8 still would love to get one of those Super Bowl rings, though.
Josh Allen is another rising star amongst the league’s best passers. His Bills were on the verge of a major push in the postseason, with fans believing a Super Bowl was in the picture. Nonetheless, the list shows the changing of the times.
With players like Philip Rivers and Drew Brees retiring- and Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers closer to that point, it’s ushering in a new era of stars for the NFL.

Fans can pick up Madden 22 on the official release date of August 20, 2021, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Google Stadia. Select pre-orders will receive the game to play even earlier on August 17, 2021. EA Play members can start playing on August 12.
