Week 9 of the NFL schedule is just about completed, as the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers will face off in Monday Night Football. With that, EA Madden’s Team of the Week 9 is on the way. We got our first look at some of the high-rated Madden 22 TOTW 9 players, based on their performances. They include Ben Roethlisberger ahead of his MNF game against the Chicago Bears, plus both Heroes. We’ve also got some other predictions for potential player items.
Madden 22 TOTW 9 players include Big Ben LTD, Josh Allen POTW
EA teased several of the biggest Madden 22 TOTW 9 players ahead of Tuesday morning’s reveal. Leading the way is a new LTD card which will arrive for Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. With this card, Big Ben is a 94 overall Field General archetype with 94s for Medium and Short Accuracy. His other top attributes include 93 Throw Power, 91 Throw Under Pressure, and 91 Deep Accuracy.
The player of the week for TOTW 9 is easily the Jacksonville Jaguars Josh Allen. Nobody was expecting the Jags to pick up another win on Sunday, especially against one of the league’s top squads, the Buffalo Bills. Allen had eight solo tackles, a sack, two tackles for loss, a recovered fumble, and an interception in a tight 9-6 game.
Check out Allen’s new 93 OVR Speed Rusher card below complete with 93 Finesse Moves, 90 Speed 90 Tackling and 87 Block Shedding attributes.
The Offensive and Defensive Hero cards are also revealed. These cards are for players for past seasons’ performances. For the Offensive Hero, gamers can pick up halfback Willis McGhee from the Denver Broncos.
His 163 rushing yards and two touchdowns were huge in his November 6, 2011 game against the Raiders. McGahee’s new 93 OVR card is as a Power Back archetype. Top attributes include 93 Trucking, 92 Acceleration, 91 Break Tackle, 91 Speed, and 91 Carrying.
On defense, it’s former Bucs CB Ronde Barber with a Man to Man archetype 93 OVR card. Barber gets 92s for his Speed, Acceleration, and Man Coverage. There’s also his 91 Agility, 90 Jumping, and 90 Pass Rushing attributes. Barber’s card comes for his November 11, 2001 game against the Lions where he recorded seven tackles and two interceptions.
Who else is featured in Team of the Week?
The rest of the Madden 22 TOTW 9 players will get revealed during EA’s Good Morning Madden show on Twitch on Tuesday morning. Ahead of that, we can look at some potential players who might join the release.
The Los Angeles Chargers picked up another important win in the AFC, defeating the Eagles, 27-24. Guiding them to that victory was sophomore sensation Justin Herbert with 356 yards passing and two touchdowns. Another player we may see in the release is the Browns’ Nick Chubb who ran for 137 yards and two TDs in his team’s victory at Cincinnati.
On the defensive side of things, Xavier McKinney seems like a solid candidate for an upgrade. He came up clutch for the Giants four solo tackles and two interceptions, including a pick-six. That seemed to be the difference in a 23-16 win for the Giants.
The Minnesota Vikings had a solid effort from Eric Kendricks, but they couldn’t grab the win against Baltimore. Meanwhile, the Indianapolis Colts defeated the New York Jets with Bobby Okereke recording 11 tackles and an interception in the win.
Good Morning Madden on Twitch reveals all player cards for the Ultimate Team release on Tuesday morning beginning at 10 a.m. Eastern Time. After that, expect to see the new items and challenges show up in MUT around 2 p.m. Eastern Time or thereafter.
