With the recent reveal of the Madden 22 cover and release date came additional details about what fans will get when they pre-order their game copies. There will be three editions available, and each gives gamers Madden 22 Ultimate Team content from the start. That will include an option to choose one out of 32 available NFL stars to use in the popular game mode, and other bonus items, depending on the edition.
Madden 22 Ultimate Team brings update to popular game mode
There are many popular modes in EA’s Madden video game, including Franchise, Face of the Franchise, Superstar KO, The Yard, and Ultimate Team. In Madden 22 Ultimate Team, fans of this particular mode are hoping for some fun and necessary updates.
More details are expected in the weeks leading to M22’s release, with EA’s notes indicating August for MUT information. However, some details are known as pre-orders are available at Amazon, Gamestop, and select online retailers.
Based on EA’s early features notes, gamers will be able to make adjustments at halftime for Superstar X-Factors so they can counter their opponent’s strategies. In addition, there’s the new Dynamic Gameday aspect of Madden 22. With this, Next Gen Stats are integrated into Ultimate Team to track stats for player items.
Ahead of full details of Madden 22 Ultimate Team, gamers playing M21 are already working towards earning some items for M22. That’s thanks to the Rookie Premiere program. With the promotion, there are 10 rookie items available to earn in Madden 21. Gamers who earn these will receive options for player cards when they launch Madden 22 Ultimate Team.
Amongst the rookies available are the No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence and other top picks, including Kyle Pitts, Micah Parsons, Jaycee Horn, and Na’Jee Harris. See our Madden 21 Rookie Premiere report for more details.
In addition to that, there will also be the option to choose one of 32 NFL stars at the start of Ultimate Team for those who pre-order Madden 22. We’ve yet to see ratings or attributes for the players, but now we know who those MUT stars will be.
Who are the 32 players available for Madden 22 Ultimate Team?
Many Ultimate Team fans like to build a theme team based on their favorite NFL squad. Some prefer adding the best stars to their MUT rosters. Now, gamers have a look at options for who to start Ultimate Team with.
A list of 32 players was revealed, along with the pre-order details for the game. They feature a who’s who of some of the league’s top stars, including the Bills’ Josh Allen, 49ers’ George Kittle, Rams’ Aaron Donald, Seahawks’ Russell Wilson, and Titans’ Derrick Henry.

All three editions of Madden 22 discussed below give gamers a choice of one of the three players above. However, there is additional MUT content with the MVP or Dynasty Edition, as well as with EA Play membership.
Madden 22 pre-orders: MVP and Dynasty give more MUT content, early access
Ahead of the August 20 release date, EA’s Madden 22 game is available to pre-order for PlayStation 4 and 5 and the Xbox One and Series X/S consoles. In addition, the upcoming game is available to pre-order for PC, Steam, and Stadia.
There are three different versions of Madden 22 with Standard Edition, MVP Edition, and Dynasty Edition. The Standard Edition is $59.99 for the current-gen consoles or $69.99 for next-gen consoles. The MVP Edition is $99.99, while the Dynasty Edition costs $119.99 for current and next-gen consoles.
Each edition includes a variety of bonus content in addition to that choice of 32 players outlined above. Gamers who pre-order the Dynasty or MVP Edition will get additional Madden 22 Ultimate Team items.
The MVP Edition will include 11 Team Fantasy Packs and either a Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes Elite Item. The Dynasty Edition gives 22 Team Fantasy Packs, a choice of Brady or Mahomes Elite Item, and a Curated Legends Pack featuring Brady or Mahomes.
While the official release date for Madden 22 is August 20, gamers who pre-order the MVP or Dynasty editions also get to begin playing three days earlier, on August 17th. See full pre-order details here at EA’s report.
EA Play gives Pre-order Discount, Bonus MUT Content
Also, EA Play members can take advantage of a 10 percent pre-order discount, a Launch Welcome Pack, and the ability to play Madden starting August 12, 2021. EA Play members will also receive additional content with monthly Ultimate Team Packs.
