Mario Kart Arcade VR Experience to Launch in the UK This Summer

If you ever played a Mario Kart game (if not, what’s wrong with you?), then you know that the main gist of the kart racer is to get to the finish line as fast as possible while picking up a variety of weapons and items to attack your opponents with. We’re so used to just running over question blocks to pick things up, but in the Mario Kart Arcade VR Experience, you can literally pick up bananas and shells with your hand, and actually hit people with it – just imagine how satisfying that feels in VR.

The Mario Kart Arcade GP VR Experience will be launching in the UK this Summer and will allow players to fully immerse themselves in the world of Mario Kart. The VR experience lets four people race against one another in the Mushroom Kingdom while being able to play Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Peach. You can watch some gameplay footage of the arcade racer in action – it looks like a lot of fun:

Bandai Namco is the developer behind the Mario Kart GP VR Experience and since the game is running with the HTC Vive VR system, it’s set to feature “industry-leading graphics.” And if you watch the footage above, you can really tell how beautiful and clean the game looks compared to the mainline Mario Kart games.

It’s coming to VR Zone Portal London this August, before eventually rolling out to other locations in the UK. More details will be released soon, but if you would like to book your place in advance, you’ll be able to very soon at the official website.

Would you guys be up for playing Mario Kart in VR? From watching that hilarious gameplay trailer, we are so ready to pick up some bananas and make our enemies slip in frustration.
