Mega Evolution is making its triumphant return in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee! Players will have the chance to utilize this revolutionary new evolutionary stage that got its introduction back in the 2013 3DS entry Pokemon X & Y. It allows certain select Pokemon to evolve beyond their normal forms briefly during their matches.
The most recent release of the CoroCoro Japanese magazine has revealed new scans (via Pokemon fan site Serebii) that show Mega Evolutions in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee! The examples given in the scans are the original three starters from generation one, Charizard, Blastoise, and Venosaur.
Each of the three can be seen showcasing their mega forms in what looks like a stadium location of sorts with something in the background that looks strikingly similar to the Gyms in Pokemon Go. This includes not just Mega Blastoise and Mega Venosaur, but also the duo of Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y.
Utilizing a Mega Evolution in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee! will still require trainers to have the Key Stone equipped and the Pokemon must have its specific associated Mega Stone. Additionally, the recent CoroCoro scans revealed the third gym that is led by Lt. Surge for the first time. We’ve already had glimpses of Brock and Misty’s gyms, but this is the first major unveiling of the Vermillion City gym.
We don’t have any new details just yet on anything new for the Vermillion City Gym but we do know that his signature Raichu will be returning as one of his Pokemon for the third gym fight. Hopefully, more information will be revealed about the gyms and Mega Evolutions in the future. For now, it isn’t clear if there will be any new mega forms introduced in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee! or not. We will let you know if new ones are announced.
