As the release date of Metro Exodus draws nearer, 4A Games has begun to release more details about what players can expect from the upcoming game. One recent gameplay trailer focuses on different weapons of the Rifle category; specifically, the Kalash, the Bulldog and the Valve. Thanks to the new customisation system, weapons like the Metro Exodus Bulldog can serve as a starting point for all manner of customisation options. While the Kalash looks to be the standard assault rifle of Metro Exodus, the Bulldog is a more powerful alternative, a; “favourite of the Metro elite special forces.”
This weapon boasts higher damage potential than the Kalash, although it has lower rate of fire and less magazine capacity. Like the Kalash, the Bulldog can be effective at long range. However, players will likely need a scope, or at least a reflex sight and a steady hand, to shoot accurately over long distances. Without these, the weapon is most effective at short range, shooting from the hip. Thanks to the wide variety of customisable options, however, players can refine the Bulldog to be the sort of weapon they need most at any given moment.
Metro Exodus Bulldog Configurations #1: The 2012
While there are all manner of customisation options for the Bulldog, the recent gameplay trailer highlights two example setups. The first of these is the 2012; a powerful and accurate medium-range rifle. This version of the Bulldog features a Standard Stock, Extended Magazine, Standard Barrel & Compensator, and Reflex Sight. This configuration allows players to shoot effectively at longer-range while improving stability and reducing the need to frequently reload.
Metro Exodus Bulldog Configurations #2: The Vyhlop
While the standard Bulldog is most effective at short range, while the 2012 is best at mid-range, the Vyhlop is designed for long-range combat. Fitted with a 6x Scope and a longer barrel, the Vyhlop turns the bullpup assault rifle into a true marksman’s rifle. The weapon is supremely accurate, with higher damage per shot as well. As a bonus, the weapon is also relatively lightweight. As the trailer describes, this weapon is; “an essential tool for tactical operations, especially when complemented with a handgun or shotgun to optimise short-range tactical versatility.”
