Metro Exodus is now less than two weeks away from its release date, on the 15th of February. In the lead-up to the game’s release, 4A Games has begun revealing more details about the sort of content players will be getting. Recently, the studio released a new gameplay trailer which reveals three weapons from the game’s rifle class. The most powerful of these is the Metro Exodus Valve; a devastating anti-armour rifle. The heaviest of the three rifle weapons revealed in the trailer, alongside the Kalash and the Bulldog, the Valve is; “a sniper’s best friend, and Anna’s rifle of choice. The Valve is the most powerful traditional anti-materiel rifle made in the metro.”
The Valve boasts enormous damage and even higher range than the other rifle options. On the other hand, this bolt-action rifle has a much lower rate of fire, a very small magazine, and huge recoil. However, like the other weapons, the Valve has a whole host of customisation options. As such, players can change the weapon in order to use it in various different roles. Two of these potential configurations were highlighted in the trailer.
Metro Exodus Valve Configurations #1: The Auto Ventil
Sacrificing precision for damage, the Auto Ventil emphasizes the weapon’s anti-materiel aspect. This rifle configuration is capable of shooting through cover and penetrating heavy armour. The weapon also features an Extended Magazine and a Semi-Automatic Receiver; improving both the rate of fire and ammunition capacity. Given the raw power of the Valve, it’s no surprise that the trailer refers to the Auto Ventil as a; “semi-automatic death machine.”
Metro Exodus Valve Configurations #2: The Preved
Although the Valve is the most powerful long-range rifle, its power comes at the price of noise; you can’t put a suppressor on it to muffle the sound of its shots. If you still want to make use of it as a sniper rifle, then the Preved configuration could be for you. Featuring even longer range thanks to its Long Barrel, a Single-Shot Receiver, and a powerful scope, this weapon is as accurate a sniper rifle as you could wish for. It’s surprisingly lightweight for its size, and boasts enormous per-shot damage. This weapon can; “clear an enemy compound before the enemy knows your location.”
