As per usual, Call of Duty players have just gotten a huge delivery of new content with the launch of Season 5 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. While the season launch includes several big changes to Warzone’s Verdansk map, it also includes a few smaller additions, including that of the “Mini Royale” game mode.
Warzone Season 5: Mini Royale and More
Mini Royale is an all-new game mode for Call of Duty: Warzone which is now available to play as part of Season 5. The game mode is smaller in scale, but also significantly faster. “Mini Royale lowers the number of Operators sent into Verdansk but quickens the BR experience,” explains Activision; “Only the first and last five minutes of a normal BR game exist meaning rapid deployment, constant movement, and high-kill strategies are set to yield victories that are both short and sweet.”
Another change to Warzone in Season 5 is one which affects weapon rotations. The new season launch heralds a major update to weapon rotation in Verdansk. This means that players should start to find a wide variety of new pre-Loadout Drop weapon tactics around the map. According to Activision, players can expect to find; “8 Common, 13 Uncommon, 15 Rare, 19 Epic, and 25 Legendary variants throughout Verdansk”.
Another significant addition which arrives as part of Warzone Season 5 are Wartracks. Available exclusively through the Season 5 Battle Pass, at least for now, Wartracks are essentially special music tracks which you can equip like Battle Horns. There are three in total, which are all unlocked as soon as you purchase the Battle Pass. You can then equip a track to each of the vehicles in your Vehicle Customisation Menu. When you do, whenever you drive that vehicle in Warzone, your Wartrack will play. In fact, it will be even be audible to your entire squad.
