Corey Kluber has been the heart and soul of the Cleveland Indians pitching staff since 2014. Summers in C-Town would not have been as exciting over the last five seasons without Kluber, that’s for sure.
The right-hander won 18 games in 2014, 2016 and 2017. For Kluber, 2017 was arguably his best season of his career. Corey Kluber won the Cy Young Award in 2017 as he finished the season 18-4 with a 2.25 ERA, 0.869 WHIP.

Monte Irvin Headliner
Monte Irvin only played eight seasons in the majors, yet his impact was big. In 1951, Irvin finished third in the MVP race as he had his best season in his career. Irvin hit 24 home runs while driving in 121.
His 121 RBI lead the league. Irvin finished his career with a .293 batting average and an OPS of .858. Just like Corey Kluber, Monte Irvin has a stout 98 OVR rated Diamond Card.
Earlier this week, MLB’s official Twitter page revealed a poll fans could vote on of dream matchups between pitchers and hitters of any era. Maybe Corey Kluber taking on Monte Irvin should have been on that poll as well!
