Every baseball fan loves the long ball! Well, that is if it is not happening to your favorite team. With the annual Home Run Derby set to take place on July 8 from Cleveland, Ohio, what better way to break down an early MLB The Show 19 Home Run Derby simulation between two video game cover athletes?
Harper, Bregman clash in Home Run Derby
Bryce Harper is one of the most polarizing figures in baseball. He also happens to be the MLB The Show 19 cover athlete. Alex Bregman is a rising star for the Houston Astros. He is gracing the cover of RBI Baseball this year. Now the two cover athletes are squaring off in an MLB The Show 19 Home Run Derby showdown!
Heading into this matchup, the edge has to go to Bryce Harper. If we compare each players power rating, Harper should be able to take care of business. However, we know that sometimes numbers, even in video games, don’t always tell the truth.
Harper is currently rated with an 86 in the power category while Bregman is set at 69. That gives the Phillies outfielder a decisive advantage.
Bregman gets off to a quick start
So, who wins this early season battle of this MLB The Show 19 Home Run Derby? We don’t want to give away the results, but let’s say it is not as one-sided as the power ratings would lead you to believe.
Bregman finished last season with 31 home runs, so he has the power to pull off the win.
The rules to this MLB The Show 19 Home Run Derby simulation are simple. Each player will have 4 minutes to hit as many home runs as they can. The player who hits the most during that time will be crowned the champion.
Let the games begin!
